Though this is not a widely entertained concept, I just want to state my opinion on this: builders need to have a safe place to get started on ECC, and if we had PvP in the mining world, this would not be a good place for builders, or any non-experienced pvp person. This is my poinion, please state yours below.
When I first started on ECC, three years ago now, the mining world was PvP enabled... I know plenty of people who were Builders back then and we made out just fine... mostly by mining in the main world, but that was hardly as fun. Since the Nether is PvP, there is the PvP world and SG to play, the focus of PvP shifted to no longer needing the mining world. I think that still holds true today, especially since most people play SG and both the Nether and PvP world are quite neglected.
I agree because I am a terrible PVP player. Yet I am practicing skills to gear myself up for the next PVP.
Sadly, Nether PVP is the most broken thing I've seen in a while. The way I see it we need to either fix the Nether or look towards alternatives.
90% of the time people are invulnerable in the nether and it's an easy bug to reproduce. So there is no point in trying to PvP in the nether at this time (not solely do to this but a large portion, nether is also way to big).
