Some people may have a huge farm planned out but do not know what crop to put inside. Melons or pumpkins? This is a question that some debate in their heads for a long time. Now why haven't I mentioned carrots or potatoes or netherwart? This is because they all have to be replanted and it takes a double the time to harvest AND plant. You could solve this problem by making a semi-automatic farmer, but that is just too tedious. Sugar cane is a different story all together. It can be farmed easily but there is one major flaw... lag. A small sugar cane farm can become very laggy and create a hard to work environment. This is bad for business and you turn away customers who have bad computers or just can not work in laggy conditions. While one pumpkin plant only has to replant one pumpkin, a sugar cane plant has to do two replants. This causes more lag then a pumpkin or melon farm, thus why I have gotten rid of sugar cane as a choice. Now we have the war between melons and pumpkins. If your looking to get the most money out of your town, then you will want to use pumpkin farms. Let's see the facts. Here are the average prices of a melon sword and pumpkin axe: Pumpkin Axe = $10,000 - $15,000 Melon Sword = $500,000 - $700,000 Let's see, which tool has the greater capacity in the ECC community? Choice Pumpkin Axe of course! You can create your own using the new enchanting signs and anvils. With melon swords you have to use nether stars to buy them, a pain in the Tootsie. Even if you can buy a melon sword, there is only like 200 at most in existence. Pumpkin axes are far more numerous and cheaper. More players have them, making pumpkin farms more in need. This is why the pumpkin farm is the best farm to make. There are farm more consumers that can use them and it is one of the least lag choices there is. Before you start making a farm, make sure you know the facts! As always, -Dragon
People always underestimate netherwart. It makes as much if not more than pumpkins and is very easy to make and use. 1. Building an nwart farm does not require water placement or light. This makes the cost of the farm much cheaper, especially if you don't have water feature. 2. You do not need ereps for nwart farming. All you need is a tool that is fortune 3. This makes the tool cost cheaper and perfect for players with less money. 3. Nwart is much easier work. All you have to do is left click or right click while pressing 'a' or 'd'. Pumpkins actually force you to look at the screen. 4. You do have to replant but that doesn't matter. You get about $1.05 to $1.40 per nwart (with fort3) and you get 2 nwart per swing. I've always preferred nwart farming and I have got most of my wealth from nwarts. However, if I were to build a farm for other people, I would choose pumpkins. This is simply because it is more popular.
I can certainly agree with you on this one, but as you said pumpkin is popular. Also most customers don't like replanting.
It really depends on the user. I myself have a melon sword which makes me prefer melons the most. What I've been told is that pumpkins make $5K/hour. But for melons, you can get $15K/hour. Personally, I'm not the type of person who likes to make less than $10k/hour doing something. Plus my only way of making money is melon farming. Currently. I'm saving up for Efficiency VII to expand into different possibilities of making money because I've been told it's an efficienct way of making money.
You missed cocoa beans , plant then drop water over the top of the logs to harvest, rinse and repeat each bean drops 3 seeds no tools other than the original axe ant picks to build the original farm
