I'm fairly new, so excuse me if this is general knowledge. I understand that mobs do not spawn much in the main world due to lag issues. As that is the case, how are shops in the marketplace getting meat, eggs etc to sell in quantity? I don't see spawners on sale anywhere, no any means to create animals from spawn eggs (except the occasional horse) so I'm at a loss as to how animal production works on the server. Any enlightenment would be appreciated
You can kill mobs for food in the mining world, although the longer it is since the reset of that world the less mobs there are. You also cannot breed mobs although if you get chicken eggs they will spawn chickens in the mining world.
Hello Ian! First off, welcome to ECC! Peaceful mobs (sheeps/cows/chickens/pigs) do not spawn in our main worlds (Rising/Legacy), however they do spawn in the Mining world. After each mining world reset (which is about every month or so), fresh mobs have been generated. After the reset, users typically go out and and harvest the mobs that spawn. Aggressive mobs (zombies, skeletons, creepers) continue to spawn throughout the month, and are harvestable.
Also /kit mobs helps get mob related items but not beef, pork, chicken etc. Oh and I believe around a year or a year and a half, maybe even two years you got cooked pork for voting so people could have stockpiled the pork. I know that when I claimed a town and LWCd some chests, I found a load of cooked pork
Uhm on contrary, my good sir, I once seen a flock of sheep roaming the lands of one of the main worlds. Could it be that this was a glitch? I know this because I always mine in the main worlds. Why do I do this? Well cause I'm not mainstream obviously... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It is possible that you ran across an extremely old chunk in legacy, which still had animals loaded from a very long time ago. But andrew has disabled the spawning of any mobs in the main worlds (other than horses) , and it is very unlikely you will run across more animals.
The last time I tried spawning chickens in the mining world, nothing happened. I thought eggs spawning chickens was disabled everywhere because of egg farms. Sent from my LG-VM701 using Tapatalk 2
It is, but all mobs in the mining world are butchered regulary. So you would need to constantly supply it with new chickens, thus it wouldn't be auto anymore and thus allowed, I'd say.
The aether is where the original auto egg farms were. The ones that got it removed. I am pretty sur it doesn't work there. Sent from my LG-VM701 using Tapatalk 2
I just tested and I spawned like 10 chickens, the only difference is you cannot breed them, but they are definitely spawn-able.
I do something called "shaking". It's an MCMMO Fishing skill. Basically, you launch your fishing rod at a mob. You have a chance to get the item without killing it, each time you do this. It's one way to get eggs. The mobs kit is another. Lastly, eggs are a high level Excavation treasure. Shaking chickens lets you get way more loot than normal, however.
If you look closely enough in Legacy, there's a giant volcano. Atop this volcano is a single cow. Every night at 11:59pm the cow falls into the volcano, and out spews a stack of finely seared beef. "How does he do this every night?" you may be asking, and here is how... There's a certain user on the server who has a time traveling device and goes back in time every night to before the cow falls in, after he collects this cooked-to-perfection beef. The cycle repeats itself. Every. Single. Night.
