I'm sure this has it's place but for some reason I can't seem to find it. How do I know where to build a place to live? Is there any set criteria? Thanks everyone!
You can build ANYWHERE in rising or main world wild. However, your building can be griefed if they are in wild. You can get a plot in a town and build there, ask in channel trade is a good place to start looking for a plot. You can become a resident and then a mayor and you will have your own town.
