I love Mass Effect. The entire series is fantastic and is probably the only game I have ever felt emotionally attached to.
I still have very fond feelings for several of my old Super NES and N64 games. They were my first foray into the world of video gaming. But in terms of current games, my favorite is Minecraft and my second favorite is Fire Emblem: Awakening for the 3DS.
I don't have one favorite, but I really enjoy Sims 3, TF2, Fable: TLC and Fable 3, Worms: Reloaded (Worms in general, really), GW2, and Saints Row: The Third.
If it was four years ago I would have voted for COD... But back then I adored the original/first COD games. xP
I clicked other so I can rant n' rave. Imma go ahead and give you a tl;dr. The innovation is born out of limitation. Creativity from adversity is what makes games great, and I will always believe that. That's why games now are so bad in my eyes. DISCLAIMER: IF ANYTHING IN THE SPOILER MAKES YOU ANGRY OR YOU DISAGREE WITH, YOU SHOULD PROBABLY STAY AWAY FROM THE INTERNET FOR THE REST OF OUR LIFE. Ranting Version: VVV Spoiler With a limited set of tools, you try to understand what you can make out of it. You're more thinking of what can I make with this that is cool and will entertain people out of this? Not with the games now that are more like "OH WHAT IF WE PUT AN EXPLOSION HERE, AND MORE EXPLOSIONS THERE?!" The limitations spark the creativity from people. I'm trying to think of a good example. Say you have a piece of paper, and an certain set of pens to write with. So you think "Ok, what can I make that's cool out of what I am starting with now." Newer games just start you out with everything, and leaves no core for you to expand and improve, the makers don't think about core and story and hope that all the flashy shit will do the job. And 9/10 times it doesn't. With truly great games, ones like Ocarina of Time, and games like Super Mario Sunshine, the limits set by those games always left me wanting more. (Still waiting for a sequel to KH2.) One last reason that makes me despise the new games that keep coming out and coming out. Do you really think the makers of CoD: BO2 really put that game out with intention to better the lives of the buyers with their product? No. That game was released solely to make them more money, and that is it.
I don't think I have ever had more fun playing a fighting game then when I played that series. I always liked these, extremely fun and addicting for a while lol.
