When you are running or flying around ECC, what style of towns, buildings, homes, etc. really catch your interest? Modern, medieval, fantastical, space, village, floating, underground, ocean/sea, specific time period, specific culture, etc? This is for general curiosity, knowing what people like nowadays on ECC, and to help me plan for some stuff!
I look for anything that looks like it took effort. Doesn't matter is it's medieval or floating or underground.
I love castles, big buildings like mah eiffel tower, anything that's big and needs lots of blocks gets my attention :3
Well, a lot of things catch my attention. Since there are almost never ever futuristic or space-type building on ECC they always catch my eye. I'm a huge fan of Star Trek and space movies, and anything like that will grab my eye. Compared to any other kind of building, large or otherwise, these will always catch my eye first. Medieval buildings are also very nice and suited to Minecraft, so i usually notice those. Castles, medieval cottages, anything of the like. Modern buildings I don't really like. Minecraft wasn't made for modern day buildings, even the best look second rate to my eye. Minecraft isn't usually about decoration, it's more about efficiency. When people do make decoration buildings, the medieval ones look a lot better then the modern ones. Underground buildings usually aren't my favorite, it just involves a lot of digging, and your surrounded by dirt and stone. And there's always a cramped stairway or a tiny ladder going into them. Even underground towns, such as staffcity, i believe moofink is the new owner, they usually don't look very good, just a lot of dirty ceiling. Ocean buildings are kind of iffy too, there's always water in the way, and minecraft water animations and underground buildings are just...kind of "meh". Floating buildings are okay, but not for me. It takes an extreme amount of skill to effectively pull off a good looking floating structure. And the fact that they look totally unrealistic. Nothing floats in mid air. The only way I'd like it is if you pulled it off with a futuristic building, because magnets and gravitation sound a lot better to me. Hope this gives you an idea of my interests, have fun building.
I like buildings that have shape. Not just random rectangle crap. Also, buildings that combine different blocks to make it an explosion of luxury and architecture. Modern is one of my favorite building style. I also like Renaissance or Rococo.
I personally LOVE rustic/medieval, but really anything that is visually appealing is good. When you see something that you recognize as a build that took time, effort, and skill, you really have an automatic respect for the builder and his/her creation.
So many styles that people like; I thought there'd be less. o3o Personally, I like most styles, but texture pack makes a big difference for me. Larger, proper/nice asymmetry, and texture is what I like the most, though.
I stick with the regular texture pack. Other packs just take too long to get used to, and most of em lag, and there's the fact that no one will really think your building is that awesome unless they have the pack.
Yeah. :b I stick with default most of the time due to laziness and people not seeing what I see; waiting on updates can be painful, too. I figure that more people don't use a texture pack than those who do.
Personally, I prefer medieval buildings, but honestly, I like seeing anything that shows a lot of effort, time, and creativity put forth.
I like Anything Original that Has Not Been Duplicated on other servers/projects/youtube videos before.
