Hi everyone, I am still having a great time here but I was wondering something... On this server balances are not made public (I have played on Eco servers where they are made public) so what gives you the motivation to keep making money and keeping it from getting to be a drag? Is is hit bragging rights, personal satisfaction, city building, practice for making, saving and spending wisely in the real world, or is it something else entirely? Right now, for me, it is seeing how fast I can rank up by doing hard work in game. I am not big on gambling or sports so I don't use the sports book and while I am toying with the idea of using the stock market, for now I like in game work. I'd love to hear all of your thoughts!
For me it's the personal satisfaction of getting another 10k in my balance, I'm always trying to improve my balance, saving up for new ranks, features and towns. I have a hard time spending money, I don't like doing those apps or /pay but when I get it I know it's worth my while. I personally like our balances not being public, because I would be pretty near the bottom
There's always something I want to spend on, whether it be for myself or someone else. Therefore, I need money in order to sustain that value, probably for others nowadays since I have everything I want.
I like it because Ecc's community is one of the best around. I'm trying to get president by the end of this year, but I like to take things slowly and make them enjoyable, rather than burning through the ranks and having nothing to do at the end.
I keep myself busy by planning large projects than will take both time and money, and I say money because then I keep myself occupied making money to continue my projects. I don't get bored because I have a variety of things I can do every day. I don't like having a lot of money onhand, not a big lotto or sports book person. I like to spend my money on assets. Like star tools, or towns to build awesome stuff on. What keeps me going is my interest in projects I cannot complete in a day, but rather over the course of weeks or months.
I simply want to rise to a point that if someone were to see me log on, I'd have people happy to know I'm on.
I'm going to get President at the end of time, give or take. What I like to do is save my money up partly for improving my town, and partly for features, just to prove that I will get VIP+ one day entirely from ECD.
What keeps me going is doing stuff I haven't done yet. Doing stuff with my empty towns. What has been keeping me motivated recently is playing with my girlfriend. She tells me she wants something Built so I go gather the mats to do so. It's fun an I get enjoyment out of it!
I like to set goals, and many people have posted threads to make that public. Form medals... donations... in-game items or building projects... so long as you have some small goals to work on at the same time as big goals you'll feel more accomplished, have more fun, and not get discouraged that the big goals aren't happening fast enough.
Realizing I'm about to be banned if I don't make money xD I also like bragging rights and being a rich rich builder is quite the prize
