A few weeks ago my account was hacked, password changed. I got it back after talking to Mojang about it. The people that hacked me were viewing my threads and my profile on these forums, so because of that I have stopped people being able to view my private info [Place I live, age, job etc] If you need to talk to me about this please PM me or throw me a forum convo. People that may need to know @314 @slvrplme [Person that viewed the hacker being on my account on ECC] @stoler202 @TimmyChoi [Person that viewed the hacker being on my account on ECC]
Wait...what? I don't exactly understand. In the last weeks, was that you, somebody else or a mix of both?
Are you saying you'd call the police after getting hacked on a damn video game? *Dials 9-1-1* "What can we help you with?" "Yeah my minecraft account got hacked, please tell police" *Operator hangs up* That's exactly what would happen. lol think about the scenario before you think of calling the police, this is what 9-1-1 operators would consider a prank call And even if they didn't, it's just a video game and the furthest it can get that person is on the server or its website, or banned It's as simple as that. (And minecraft accounts only cost like what, $30? I even think that if hacking happens you can get your stuff transferred over to your new account, so it's not that big of a deal, and police is way too far unless that hacker goes further than just minecraft to say hacking companies like microsoft; mojang is as far as anyone needs to go.) Daniel's lucky that Mojang was able to get back to him, but he could have at least contacted EcoCityCraft about the hacking.
You wouldn't have said this to another player besides hilv. Danielman said that people were gaining information about his real life, which may have lead him to think that something serious was happening in real life. Express your anger somewhere else.
It's not anger, I would have said it to anybody. Honestly, what would you expect 9-1-1 operators to say about a minecraft account being hacked? Especially coming from an adult, no offense, but still. And as for the Daniel thing, everyone had been able to see his information, it wasn't just him. He put it on public (from what I recall) and he can't help that, he can only stop it while he can (and he did, thankfully) And who says I have anger? I never expressed anger; I simply stated that most people think that calling 9-1-1 about a minecraft account is dumb, but in this case I can (to a point) understand why hilv said police should have been called. Even then, it's not like the police would have been able to do a whole lot as a hacked account for a video game would probably be on the bottom of their agenda. I'm not saying that calling the police is a terrible idea, I'm saying what would happen after calling them. Just hear me out, will you?
I suppose that hackers finding out Dan's real life information >can> be threatening, but if I recall his information was public, so anyone could have seen it.
Nope lol. It's not considered in the moment life threatening. lol There's a process for everything, just like how staff handle complaints it is the same for police.
I see. But I do agree that 9-1-1 should be saved for that one in a million "if" Because if not, then you could be jeopardizing people's lives because you can't play a video game. Yes, that is a big accusation... but still. I prefer to think "what if" than to not think at all.
hackers can steal your credit card know where you live, stalk you.And end up hacking into your emails, than other gaming accounts. so that being said. It could put you family and friend at stake and lost of hard work.
Wait world war 3? dafuaq? when did this happen over night or something? Coz if ww3 started we would be all dead right about now.
Nope; In WWII everyone didn't die, because if they did you wouldn't be here. Same with WWI Your logic is flawed my friend
This isnt a debate on what you should do when your account is taken over or about WW3 Lets not go off topic here guys and non-tagged people should not really post here...
