Read before vote! This is an idea that i thought that would be nice for new players. What it will be is that when they are joining the server for the first time and get a book with info about the server and some instructions like: how to make money or where to build. something like that too see what the players need to do on this server. Its handy for the players because they then don't know what to do when they arrive the first time and this will help them. Thanks for reading, V6ud
Disagree. Unless there is a dedicated space for "learning how ECC works" that requires some sort of test to leave, an in-game guidebook just adds another source of information that new players already have access to. We already have a website with tutorials, a Wiki page, the wall that you face in Spawn and the "/rules" command in game. If a new player wanders into ECC and, after having at least 4 sources from which to learn the basics, completely ignore everything and ask "how do I make money"...then their lack of wisdom ("Wisdom" is the practical use of intelligence) shows everyone that they want to just be babysat / led by the hand. I think, personally, if they can follow the directions to BUY the game, then they have shown that they have the tools and experience to "google it" first. Now, if someone needs a reminder on how to do a specific command, that's different.

My point is that anyone that needs a FIFTH place to get the same information needs to use the first 4 places (2 of which are in game) Why doesn't Andrew just add a donation option to have an experienced player come to your house, install the game for you, then stand behind you and answer any questions you might have while playing... maybe even take over for you when you need to visit the bathroom... Really, how much hand-holding does a new player need? (Side Note: in the above statements, "you" is not meant to represent v6ud, rather a generic individual *grin*)
