Hey guys! This is my first forum post! Anyways, I want to know what blocks you guys like to build with. I would like to know this because it will help me know as to what blocks to use, as well as try and make a place that you guys would want to battle at. You can have more then one favorite block to build with, so please don't hesitate to tell me every single block that you like! Thanks, and I can't wait to know some of the blocks to use!
I know this seems like im just a hipster but... I absolutely HATE quartz. The main reason is that if somebody uses quartz then most of the time they usually overuse it to the point its nothing but quartz, or the majority of it is quartz. Other then that I love buildings made from clay.
I primarily use stained clay and stained glass with most of my projects. I use quartz and other fancy stuff a little bit just as a touch for decoration because, as Veng said, if you use too much of it, it looks bland. The main rule I like to follow when building is to have variety in your builds, don't build with the same exact kind of blocks everywhere.
whatever I feel like using. One time it's dirt (seriously, I've built a town out of dirt before), the other time nether materials. And the one that looks best so far is stonebrick, mossycobble and glowstone. (and subsets, like stairs and walls and such) And.. natural, mushroom blocks, jungle, vines, etc.
I really like coal blocks, lapis blocks, and quartz. I used to like redstone blocks until I saw them in the default texture pack.
