Hello. I am KeroandYue and new to this server. As I was perusing through the forum, I noticed that 2 items talked about a lot were melon swords and eff 7 picks. My question is what are they and how do I purchase them without ECC? I believe there was a mention of a NetherStar shop by the server where you can purchase one for about 2000 but I'm not sure how to get to said shop, and what the actual usage is for. Many thanks.
Allow me to step up to the plate and explain Melon Sword (aka msword): A Diamond Sword with Efficiency and Silk Touch enchantments. These are normally not possible to apply to a sword, but this is special The sword allows you to harvest melons faster than anything else available. If you have Fly (donation feature), you can set your walking speed to .583 which allows you to walk down a row of melons and harvest the melon block before you would walk into it. The Silk Touch keeps the melon as one block, instead of the normal melon slices. normal harvest = 2-4 slices, 9 slices needed to make a melon slice = $0.20 (not online atm, prossibly incorrect) melon = $1.65 (still not online, but close) selling the slices makes less money that crafting them back into a whole melon. So, a Melon Sword lets you harvest whole melons and at a faster rate than anything else possible (such as a Silk Touch Pick) Eff 7 Pick: Enchantments are normally only possible up to 5, Star Tools (Pick, Shovel, Axe) have a higher Efficiency that can not be made by a player. The Pick is Efficiency 7, Unbreaking 3, Silk Touch enchanted. When used, it breaks stone at the same rate as one can break sugarcane bare handed. It almost looks like the stone is exploding! Since it also has Silk Touch on it, you do not need to smelt the normal cobble back into stone, it "harvests" as stone already. There are 2 ways to acquire these tools: 1) Buy them from the Star Tool shop on the second level of spawn. There are signs around the main square in Spawn that will take you directly to the Server Shop level. There are other shops that sell enchantments (up to level 5), blocks in quantity, plants / flowers, etc. The msword costs 2000 nether stars, the pick costs 1500. Nether stars can be obtained by voting for the server (once per day for #1 and #2, every 12 hours for #3, 4 stars per day) or buying them from other players, like at the Market. Star prices, within the last 6 months, have ranged from just under $400 to now over $500 each. 2) Buy someone else's tool in ECD, either full price or by payment plan. Depending on who is selling them and the purchase plan, either tool can range between $750k ECD to $1M ECD (yes, that's one million) There are other Star items, but you'll have to visit the shop to see them all (armor, tools, weapons) None of the items sold in the Star shop can be made, only purchased with money or nether stars. If you have any additional questions, ask them here (so the people that don't ask but still want to know, they can read this thread) Unless the question is; "Are you selling any of these tools?" The answer is no, I'm working on buying them myself
Evil machines that destroy the economy! Once gained, the profits will never stop! It will turn you into a *gasp* Melon Farming Zombie! So yea... you have to work a lot to get them, but the reward is a steady flow of cash.
I'm willing to put my netherstars with someone else's so long as we share the star tool. And if the tool is sold we get 50/50 profit
Umm, I prefer melon swords because it's constant money, however if you enjoy mining more, I would go for the efficiency 7 pickaxe. I would suggest having the Pyro+ feature if you do choose the efficiency 7. Unforeseen accidents (lava) can come out of nowhere and kill you.
