Greetings, I'll make this short and simple. My schedule does not allow me to vote the same time each day and therefore I am unable to get the voting medal. This has always bothered me. I would like for someone to vote for me for one month in order for me to get the voting medal. The person who would do this, would get a few things. I would pay money upfront if you are qualified (you have the medal yourself to show you know how to do this). I would give you the top rewards for being one of the top voters when it comes out. I just want the medal. Please let me know if you are interested and what this might cost upfront. Thanks for reading.
This is brilliant, IMHO. I'm just not sure whether it's legit lol (rules are not explicitly against it; however...)
I have asked many different times about blurred lines on voting. This has been done before and should not be an issue now. As I thought this might come up, I dug this up before even making this thread, to refresh my memory: http://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/hiring-a-voter.100913/#post-514242 Andrew's post was deleted in the dark reset that shall go unmentioned. But I hope the fact that I didn't edit that post speaks to the validity of it.
It's perfectly fine, legally. What you linked is something that goes against the spirit of the rule. This isn't something like that.
I might disagree here. You are supposed to vote for yourself, not for other users. And when you vote, you spend some time for a reward; mojang was against this, and that was totally retard because spending time is the whole point of playing, but regardless: you get a reward for something you do; that's the whole essence. Is Emau going to spend time voting? No. He's going to spend time doing something else (mining, farming, it doesn't really matter) and then use that money to reward someone who is spending some time for him, so that he can get something (a medal) that he has no way to get otherwise. And let it be clear: I'm totally fine with that, that's the point of an economy. But providing voting service goes "against" (?) the spirit of voting in the same exact way as providing /own service goes "against" (?) the spirit of /own. I will repeat myself. I'm totally fine with Emau's idea, I said that it was brilliant just a few comments earlier: the whole point of being innovative is doing things that no one immagined before, being smart about what can be done in your environment and take advantage of that (without spoiling others of course: that's why griefing and stealing is against the rules; and neither voting nor own services deprive others of what they worked hard for). The only reason why I quoted that comment is because I was afraid that the same thing could happen here, and I wanted to warn him. Glad for you to hear that, the very fact it has been allowed at least once makes it much less likely to be forbidden now (for no good reason).
To be honest, it'd take a lot of convincing or money for me to do this. I definitely know how to vote strategically, but my schedule is packed in real life and I have little energy to vote. I'd consider it for a fairly large sum of money upfront, because I don't care about winning the event tokens.
The more I think about it, the more I'm interested in doing this. I only have one issue. Assuming that September is out of question: does it have to be October, or can it be November as well? I might do one or two short trips in October and therefore I can't guarantee the required regularity in that month. (if November is ok for you and we make a deal, I won't expect any upfront payment before the end of October, of course)
This would allow one person to try for October. If they are unsuccessful, then you have first dibs for November. Everything sounds great and I appreciate the forethought to make sure you have the time do do this properly. This instills me with confidence.
