I think the pricing of vines should be slight higher then what it is at now. Vines are at the same price as reeds, why is that? If you want to farm reeds all you have to do is hit them and you get the reeds. Vines, how ever, you need to use sheers with. Sheers costs 2 iron ingots to make, so starting off you have already lost 20 ecodollars. Also, breaking the highest part of the vine will only yield one vine with no regard to how many are below it. I do not know how many vines you can get with one pair of sheers, I will have to test that out after I get some vines. As regards to how much they should be, I am not sure yet since I have not be able to mess with vines enough. I wanted to start this thread to see what others thought as well, and see if any one else wanted to throw out how much they think they should be worth.
I'd like to see vines a higher price. It seems a bit time consuming to farm... However, I haven't really played with them, either... :/ They grow really fast and spread like a plague. I'd like to see someone make a good, efficient farm out of them, and see how much they gain. o.o
Shears are good for 239 uses. Vines /sell for $.1. A single set of shears nets you $23.9. Less the cost of shears ($20), $3.90 profit. Wtf? Wool sells for $.3. The profit from using shears on sheep is $43.29. As another problem, leaves don't /sell for enough. If I use my $20 shears to harvest leaves, I'll lose $8.05. Leaves should go to $.10 and vines should go to $.20.
Oh wow, thanks for figuring that out arius So there defiantly needs to be a price bump on a few things. What do you all think vines should be raised to? $3 dollars in profit is entirely not worth it at all, especially since you do not use any tools to gather reeds, which are the same price.
A full inventory holds 2304 instances of any item that makes stacks of 64. In the case of reeds, a full inventory is currently worth $230.4. As an important note, there is no immediate cost associated with reed farming. At present, a full inventory of vines will net $460.8; however, 10(9.6) shears are required to produce that full inventory. The cost of vine farming a full inventory is (give or take) $200. The total profit from vine farming is $260.8, or $30 more than reed farming. The real question is: How long does it take to get a full inventory of vines and how long does it take to get a full inventory of reeds? Whatever that time difference, is it accurately represented by a $30 differential? Just something to think about.
