Felon Username: UnknownComplaint: I have been offline for 3 weeks due to family matters. When I logged on today I found out that someone has griefed my chests and my furnaces. They stole many things but what bugs me the most is that I am missing over 30 diamonds and my 3 Nstars I believe it was.Evidence: My chests are missing multiple things in them. Was hoping someone can find out who it was by using a beacon or something...Additional Information: I am pretty stressed out about how I will get my things returned...
Hey TheLonleyBoss, I figured that I'd let you know that you can hire a donor that has Investigator, and they can tell you who touched your chests.
Hello @TheLonelyBoss, thank you for using the complaint's section of the forum. I will be reviewing your complaint.
Hello @TheLonelyBoss, I can most definitely understand your frustration with your belongings having been stolen. EcoCityCraft has the basic means for people to lock chests and such for holding items. It is legal for people to take items from unlocked chests. In the Rising and Legacy worlds (you can tell what world you are in by typing "/getpos"), you can lock chests so that no one but you can access them by typing "/lock" and then hitting the chest. These locks can also be used on things like furnaces and doors. As a builder rank user, you should have 15 locks available to you. Higher ranks can have more available locks. This is a big reason why people rank up to resident, and to mayor, president. You can type "/climits" to see how many locks you have used, and how many more you have available. The only time that locks can be removed is if the locked things are in someone's town, and you have been issued an eviction notice or have been offline for 7 days, and they file a lock removal request. Please note you can only lock things in the Rising and Legacy worlds. You can not lock things in the Mining world. Also the Mining world resets every so often. Rising and Legacy do not reset. There is an advantage to living in a town though. Only members of the town will be able to destroy structures in a town. If someone grief's your structure, as a resident of the town, you have the right to file a grief report for damage (destroyed or added) your plot/home/structure. A mayor of the town can also file grief reports. However, the ability to investigate damages may only last for a limited time after the damage is done. So it is best to always file a grief report asap. Unfortunately, even if someone is found to have griefed your things in a protected town (and possibly griefed into a structure to get to unlocked chests), the most EcoCityCraft staff can do is to issue warnings or bans to the individual(s) for their actions. We cannot always force them to return things that are stolen. On EcoCityCraft, moderators and staff members are players like you. We do not have the ability to spawn items and things to reimburse other players. On ECC, everyone is entitled to the same options, and thus the same risks that go along with all choices. I know that this sounds cold, but try to understand, this is meant to make things as fair and open as possible so that each person individually is responsible for his or her own actions, and nothing more. A big reason why people rank up to mayor and have their own towns is so that they have the peace of mind of storing things in their own personal protected regions, and so that uninvited guests can't easily ruin their things. I empathize with what has happened to you. I think it has happened to all of us. I remember when I was a builder, my first home was in a cave, and my things were taken from me. It prompted me to join a town, and eventually purchase my own town. I would encourage you to do the same. If I have presumed incorrectly that you are located in the wilds of Legacy or Rising, and your griefed structure and belongings are actually within a town, please file a grief report as soon as possible. I know you said you were gone for awhile, but if the grief took place recently inside of a town, there is a chance we can catch the felons. Unfortunatly, as this is not a complaint that we can take any action within the scope of complaints, I will need to be locking this. I know that EcoCityCraft has a lot of policies and procedures that are not always apparent when you start out on ECC. They have taken shape over a long time to address a lot of needs. Please never hesitate to ask a staff member for advice or clarification if you don't understand something. Sincerely, OnSceneReporter Locked
