This thread is for the United Nations and as to how we discuss what we think we should do and how we should execute it. Most Ambassadors within the United Nations are not able to discuss with one another as to forum in-box limits. I saw how active we were in our in-boxes, and combined just in the short time that this group has existed, we had nearly 500 messages! Using this method, everyone can express their opinions and ideas for what is at hand and everyone has the ability to see, even those not in the United Nations. Below please bring up what you think both the United Nations should be doing to better the community, and what we should implement to have a better society. Everyone can participate below even if you are not in the United Nations, but when it comes to us voting on a decision, only Ambassadors apart of the United Nations can take part.

Before we came to this thread, we were in the process of talking about having a maximum plot price we should offer to give builders a more fair chance at getting property, but the opposing side said that builders get almost everything handed to them these days with free stuff. We also talked about a minimum wage we should offer to players so we don't take advantage of everyone around us, like builders not knowing that 150/hour for placing dirt is a horrible deal. thoughts anyone?

Regarding the builder plots, I still like the idea of a maximum $500 price for 10x10 plots at any town that can offer this size

Couldn't players just bypass this by offering 11x11 plots for something higher? I think we should standardize it for builders, where builders in general are offered plots of any size for a set price. That way builders can't be taken advantage of in towns part of the United Nations. There's also the issue of towns having pre-builts only so low prices doesn't match up with the actual cost it took to build.

Should we force all residential towns to build builder plots by default? Or should we classify towns as being "builder friendly" with 10x10 plots for a set price each?

I like the idea of categorizing certain towns as "Builder Friendly". These towns should me made to offer 11x11 or 10x10 plots (depending on your town lay-out) to builders at a set price. I propose that all towns in the "Builder help" organization plus all other volunteers should implement this to help builders gain access to a home.

Regulating the economics of a town sounds like a bad idea to me. Im personally not gonna start selling for 500 even if this goes through. A builder can make 1,000 easily in 5 minutes just by voting.

So what price would you be willing to set it at if you were to set a price. Hypothetically of course.

Reposting my thoughts from the previous email string with a bit of elaboration:

I am not in favor of all towns being required to offer plots to builders at a special price. I think Builders should pay fair prices for their lot so that they take their commitment to the town seriously and don't join just to grief. All Builders can get aprox $1500 dollars a day by voting and surely they can then afford to to pay fair price for a lot. Also, some towns are planned to have very high end features and buildings and most builders would not be able to afford to buy into a town like that and may not be willing to respect what has been built.

For the above reasons, that is why when I reopen Greenwood to residents I plan on it being attractive to builders as it has many options for living at all prices - builders can purchase furnished apartments for a very reasonable rent and then save up for condos, town homes or lots where they build them selves. The town has everything a builder would need to get started - farm, farm animals, public brewing room, town portal, helpful free services, and places to share goods for free.

If and when I open Whisperwoods for residents it will be for resident+ or Mayor+ levels. I envision it to have only 3 to 5 very large lots for estate living aimed at players who like to build really nice homes in a safe place or members who will pay to have such a home built for them.

I think there needs to be towns that cater to all types of different members goals and that what type of member a town accepts should be at the discretion of the mayor / owner. That said, I am in favor of the concept for "builder friendly" towns. However, I believe it should include more than a low price lot. In order to be "builder friendly" there need to be active town members who can help builders learn about the server and also the town should provide the starter services that will help builders make money to become residents - such as a farm, free donation services such as water placement and ereps.

As the director of the Build Help Organization I would have to say that i agree with Alpaca on this one. Builders should not be left on their own to figure things out they need someone else to help guide them.

Ok, made my decision. I -1 a certain price for plots. 10x10s are small i know, but i LOVE making cozy houses on them. (even though they mostly suck xP) I think that whats built on the plot can up the price a lot. Alpaca said something about builders having to be committed, and i agree. IF we do this law, there would need to laws about people not building super tall houses... right? But still, i disagree with set prices

Maybe instead of forcing everyone to do it, we can just make a "builder friendly" status for certain towns that comply with what we decide is "builder friendly". So we can just come up with different things that make a town as such. (i.e. plot prices/sizes/kits for builders, etc.)

You know what, @Jackson_G14 should justlet us +1 or -1 the idea. soon. give people 5-10 days, and tally up votes. then we gotta decide the price.

-Idk if this method would work to peak efficiency, if I throw out ideas and keep it at a yes or no, it's more of an absolute decision, then deciding the price. I like how we hash out what we think is the best or how to tweak the law at steak.

-My idea on this plot debate is keeping it up to the towns for the most part. I think similarly to what was brought above is that we classify specific towns that are "builder friendly" this way the towns that want to be top luxury don't need to worry about the laws at hand, ect. Maybe something along the lines of making a sub-sub category for the residential towns to break them up even more specifically into either luxury, builder friendly, exclusive, ect.
