Ive noticed that saplings dont grow into trees, even when you stand by them for days on end. Has tree growth been disabled on this server? I have pumpkins coming out of my ears, and my wheat grows slowly, but not a single tree will grow. I have found it very difficult to find any standing trees in the wild. Can someone suggest a path to take to get to an open forest area? Also, are there any areas with pigs and cows? If not, how does one actualy get any livestock? Great server, btw. But i still have a lot to learn about it. thanks! Akita
Under "connections" there is a link to a live map. You can zoom in pretty good to find forest locations (actually quite a few...just not near Spawn) Trees grow...but they seem to act like boiling water (watched pot never boils? um..nevermind) I have a tree farm in my town that only seems to grow when I'm in town...but not exactly next to them. I think I remember reading something about a "within 120 blocks" limit that any player must be to have something load / grow.
There are trees in the wild. If you can't find them use live map it really helps out . Its strange that you can't get saplings to grow. I have tree farm in which I plant saplings all the time and all I need to do is stand in the middle for them to grow.
Depends on the type of sapling you are trying to grow. Each sapling has a specific amount of room it needs to grow. Oak trees are the easist to grow, just dont place them too close just in case that might be the issue.
Hmm, ok. Ive stood by them, but maybe just not long enough. I use the live map, but it does not update my location, so its hard to track where I am. So when I take a portal to the wild, I cat tell where I went. All I see is either water or snow. I guess I will keep trying. thanks
go to google and install the CJB mod (NOT the xray portion) and a minimap will show up with coordinates beneath it. put your mouse on the trees on livemap and coordinates will be on the left top corner. match the coordinates, WIN!
Thanks guys. By being more patient and standing by the trees for hours, they finally grew! Also, I used /getpos to find my position and figured out how to navigate the map. Actually found a wooded area! I never got the map to update, but its all good. thanks for all the help! Akita0000
