Minecraft Username: Jdawger Brief Description: When an old owner of a magic armor piece removes their ownership on the item or adds someone to the ownership (to /own themselves), the original owner's name is still added. Instructions: 1.) Player A (the original owner) does either /own remove or /own [Player B] 2.) Player B /own 's the magic armor (not necessary, but it solidifies the ownership removal of the original owner) 3.) Player A's name stays attached while Player B technically owns the item How many times did you recreate this?: Technically twice (with adding an owner transfer and removing the original owner) Result: @JRigz 's name is still on the armor Expected Result: @Jdawger should be the only person with ownership and @JRigz 's name shouldn't be anywhere near the armor Evidence:
Yeah this is weird, not sure what is going on but with other tools/armour, it usually wiped the original owners name completely and gives full ownership to new owner.
Actually, I'm looking at it now. @JRigz , it still has your old username attached to it. Not sure if that is the reason or not
it has something to do with changing your username. same thing with my magic sword. has edrandom's old name on it still.
Unable to replicate using the above steps, from further testing this does seem to be linked to account name changes, if your account name changes, and then you transfer the tool, your original username will be kept on the item. If this does bother you, for the time being, please reach out to a serveradmin and we can regenerate the tool
We have added this to our development bug tracked. At this time however, if these tools bother you, as stated above, please contact a @STAFF-04 Server Admin and they will have the tool regenerated for you.
I can state quickly that I bought another magic armor from @JRigz last night that also had his old username on it. It went away when I did /own on it
@Jdawger @JRigz @BobbyBlack @iSneaky This should now be fixed. Please confirm if possible to test, or if not, please let us know if it happens again after another name change.
Both @techy88 and I tested this on a simple wooden pickaxe. Easy to replicate, just /own the tool, do /own remove <id>, and then give the tool to someone else to /own. Both of us have never changed our names which is why I figured I would post a response in this report.
In addition to the testing. I had the same issue with a StarSword I purchased tonight. This one however could have resulted from a name change of a previous owner.
/own issues should now be fixed. If they persist, please make a new report with exact reproduction steps.
