~~Introduction~~ When it comes to player to player trades and transactions, everyone must take a step up and follow some high standards of safe guard. Unfortunately, not everyone on EcoCityCraft is going to be fully cooperative and behave in a manner of respect to everyone. This is goes double for trades. It is your job to make sure all these safe guards are in place The following Wiki pages go over in detail the various tips and policies regarding evidence and how to safely perform transactions. Transaction Safety How to post a screenshot Collecting Proper Evidence Loans and Lending. Please read these articles as well as the information presented in this thread carefully. Collecting evidence isn't the job of EcoCityCraft Staff, but for yourself, the player, to collect and present to us in case of an issue arising. You should take special care in evidence collecting and care when dealing with any transactions of any size. Regardless of the type of trade you do, these rules always apply. ~~Rules~~ It’s important to note that the majority of Staff members are unable to assist with the returning of items that go missing from transactions. The only Staff who may assist with this is the @STAFF-04 Server Admin. This is only done in specific cases. Screenshots are the only acceptable evidence, or video if you are so lucky. Textual evidence is not enough and cannot be counted as evidence even if you have support from other players. Contracts are acceptable agreement evidence. If there is enough evidence, Staff may invoke a ban on the offending account. This is not a guarantee however as it always comes down to how well the evidence stacks up. ~~Where and How to Trade and Collect Evidence~~ Please keep the following in mind when it comes to picking a location to trade goods: Items on the ground are fair game for ANYONE to pick up. The staff team will not act upon someone else picking up your items if you throw them to another user. The only exception is if the item happens to be an owned tool with a unique #ID on it. Do not throw items on the ground when you are participating in a transaction, use the SafeTrade method as much as possible, with the command /trade <username> Chests that are locked to the parties involved in the trade are beneficial to the trade going through, as it stops third parties altogether from coming in and taking items off the ground. A screenshot of the trade agreement is vital. The screenshot needs to answer these questions: What are you buying or selling? What was the EcoDollar amount or other items to be used as currency? Who was going to provide this trade with you? Confirmation of the sending and the sent status of money. Or confirming when you are ready to trade items. Agreement Tip: Using a contract allows the staff team to be aware that there is a transaction taking place, and can serve as a starting point to a fair trade with several terms and conditions, where applicable. Please note that even if you use contracts to make a trade agreement of any sort, that you are still responsible for the collection of evidence regarding said transaction in game once the contract has been signed and sealed. It's well advised to make reference to the contract when performing the applicable trading in game, for the sake of keeping things like that on record. Before dropping items on the ground, ensure other players are not close to your location. Confirm the trade was a good one, or question any actions that did not meet the trade agreement. But be polite about how you deal with this. You might have missed the payment message. If you still believe there is a problem, the screenshots you have can be used as evidence by other staff and you will be allowed to obtain help. ~~Feature Transactions~~ While the best and most reliable way of buying features is doing it yourself, EcoCityCraft does allow other players to purchasers to buy items for other people. These are big ticket transactions with a lot of potential to scam. Always remember:Trades are agreements. If something doesn't feel right, if you feel bullied or pushed into a trade, you have the right to say no to the trade. Make wise choices now because you don't know when a problem will arise. If it is too good to be true, it probably is. Whether you go to spawn or teleport to complete the trade, always ensure other players are not close, sometimes they can intercept trades, and its not the fault of the people involved with the trade. You are free to cancel all trades except those that started in auctions. Auction trades must be completed. *Keep you and those you care about safe.* Thanks to @Skylexia for originally writing this.
