I think there should be trade rooms close to spawn so that players who have auctioned things to others can just walk into a secure room and make the trade. Then to get out they could just type /spawn or /home. I think we should add this because many players have had their things taken from others who did not pay because they didn't have a secure trading room.
I think this is unnessesary because you can just go to a town or a wild area and make the trade. There are not that many players in this server so I do not think that you will find them everywhere. (unless you do the trade at spawn which is risky and dumb)
I know but I think it would be easier and more convenient for players to be able trade securely right at spawn. Also I don't think it would be that much of a trouble to build.
I think it would be good to implement some sort of more secure trading method, perhaps a trade window that comes up when you type /trade <username> then the other person has to type /accept trade <username> . It would also reduce scamming if you would make the window handle the transfer of money. That way money and items are traded at the same time.
You have all of Ecc to trade items in. You can go in the wild, town, etc. While trading, you could place a chest, lock it for you and your trading partner and then they may take the item/items out of the chest; or you can just do a direct throw to the other player. Also, this will be a waste of time building specific trading areas at spawn, since there are already many places that you could use.
True but what about if one of the two people trading refuses to pay up? What if you sold someone an enchanted diamond pick for 6k but after you had the pick over he/she refuses to pay you? You make a complaint post right? Or contact an in game mod? Well if we had a trade window that wouldn't be a problem.
While I do like the idea of a pop-up trade window, that would have to be coded entirely, and with that comes a whole list of challenges that has to be done, as for the safe trading rooms, I have worked on some designs for them, but they either end up being to complicated, or to easy to steal out of if you think. While I like this idea, the flaws in the design may be what stops this from being added, or the fact there are all ready so many alternatives for safe trading, as a18greek pointed out. Or a simple option would be to use a trade sign, they require that you put in the payment(or item) and get your item(or payment).
I guess you could put it into a trade sign, but you can't put enchanted items in signs (at least I don't think you can).
