I wanted to make a quick guide for some tips I have for not getting scammed. Some of these are common sense but it seems a lot of people do not actually think of these things.

    #1 Evaluate the offer.
If the deal seems way to good to be true (Ex. I'll sell you a max fortune pick for $100!) or if the user does not seem to know what they are talking about then it might not be a good deal to make.

    #2 Evaluate the user
Please do one thing for me:
NEVER BUY A FEATURE FROM A BUILDER WITH NO DONATIONS!
Why would a builder (a lot of times who just joined the server) sell you a feature when they have none themselves?
Also never do a big sale (like a feature, max tool, ect.) if the builder does not have a forum account. If they don't then they probably haven't even looked on ecocitycraft.com yet.

    #3 Take evidence
If you decide the user is trustworthy, make sure to take good evidence. Double tap F2 to get timestamps. Always use the built in screenshot function, some programs will not take the shot right or crop it, then it can not be used as evidence.

Even though this thread is small, I hope I can get a lot of people to read it. I see so many complaints get dismissed because someone took cropped screenshots or no timestamps. I also see many cases where for some reason people (try to) buy features off someone who has literally joined ECC 30 minutes before.

It's sad that many of these cases can be easily prevented. I recommend everyone re read the rules/wiki and spam your screenshot button. :)

I really hope I can stop people from getting scammed with this.

I think you should add that a great way to prevent scamming is to use a moderator as a middleman. Essentially, if player A is selling an axe to player B, player A would give the axe to the mod, player B gives money to the mod, if the terms are met, then the mod gives the money to player A and the axe to its new owner player B
