When do you see staff have fun like this? This actually made me laugh not because of the joke, but because look how the old staff was, fun, comical, easy going, and enjoying themselves. Would be nice to see this generations staff be a fraction of what it was back then. rabidworm sitomo BGeisinger6 SynWannabe EDIT: Why do you see this as trolling why can't you see this as having a good time. I am not posting this to say that staff should troll I am saying that staff shouldn't be so cookie cutter and actually enjoy the game like these guys did.
These mods were excellent! Thecreator767 You still selling that EFF 2 Pick from the video (start part)
#neverforget2012 This was back long ago, during the Second Age. Modding was fun, it made sense, and everyone was happy. But everything changed when the Red Tape Attacked. Slowly, it strangled the life out of modding, made it less fun, more tedious, and while its intentions were great, it wasn't ready to save anyone. Were we wrong to troll PMC'ers so hard? (they were the only group we did) Maybe. Or maybe, back in the day, it wasn't as much of a punishment. You see, back in the day, a Ban was not a truly serious punishment. Sure, it was serious, but t was used like temp bans are used today, and was considered such. 90% of people banned were back within a day or two, having made a proper appeal to ensure the community whatever they did will not happen again. breaking it again, of course, lead to longer and longer bans. permabans were SOLELY given out by Andrewkm himself, and even those weren't always permanent (except for xray noobs gtfo). It was better for small things, too. There are so many guidelines and regulations these days that you could *almost* just write a program to moderate for you. There are no more decision, no more flexibility, no more... humanity... in the way things are done. Back during my glory days, I prided myself on solving people's problems, not automatically, but.... humanly. I didnt just factor in right or wrong, I factored in the players, I factored in cooperation, and I factored in myself and my own ideals about how things should be done. It worked well for me, I think. I solved many problems that would be utterly unsolvable (or make BOTH players angry with the outcome) using today's guidelines. I took mean, negative players, who did things just for spite, and rather than outright banning-and-forgetting, I helped teach them. I changed them, not always of course, but almost always managed to get them to return as a good member of the community. And, I never but once failed to get them to undo whatever it is they did, and the one time I failed was with a player I won't name and Splash Damage Pots II. This is not to look down or say today's mods are any less than we were, to be honest, I regard them even higher than I ever did myself. They are capable of single-mindedly persevering through the environment in which they find themselves, and through the guidelines which rule them to do the absolute best they can. And in my opinion, they do a fantastic job. I sure didn't handle it. after I re-got Mod a few months ago, the restrictions melted me to a pile of hate in mere weeks. I couldn't do it. I quit. I wish that things could back sometimes, if even only for a day... but alas, things move forward, and often for the better. TL;DR there is no TL;DR read it if you want to know what I have to say. <3 and Waffles,- rabidworm
Lol I joined early 2012, and I do admit that staff cracked me up at times. Not to say the current staff doesn't though. Although, I'm also not one of those people to dwell on the past and try to relive the "good 'ole times." If you truly want to have fun like this then I would suggest going out and creating new memories! I find 100% no reason why you couldn't do hilarious stuff like this with 2013-2014 staff. I sure have!
