One core can do the work of multiple cores and the threads don't get bottlenecked. I think it is overhyped myself, but it does increase speed. 2. 7 is a misleading question. The answer is both. Solid states do not move, therefore a spinning disk drive 'moves faster', but a solid state retrieves data faser.
No one needs to know this. I build computers and overclock and do a hell of a lot with them. I mean like, who would need to know what P.O.S.T. stands for? Though I am not against learning new things, so if someone could post some decent, perhaps vaguely realistic, answers then I wouldn't mind.

The fact you said this would make me not want to buy a computer from you or ask for help. These are basic knowledge questions that anyone who works on computers honestly should know. I mean when you do your MCSE you have to know this stuff so why wouldn't you take the time know them? I mean you can assemble a computer that's great but do you really know how it all works together?
