Edo prefecture was founded on 1/9/15 by @Gmoneyman118, the current Emperor. @gpc2002gpc also helped survey the settlement and is the co-founder.

It's Laws and regulations are as follows:

1. Follow the Server Rules.
2. Don't overstay allocated extended leave time.
3. Never show a foreign flag (unless a registered embassy).
4. Respect the Emperor and his High-Council.
5. Don't be offline for 7+ days without applying for extended leave.
6. Lying on applications is illegal.
7. Basements - Legal up to 9 blocks deep w/out mining permit

1 Acre of land = 10x10 Government price (doesn't apply to private real-estate sold by citizens this is purely the goverment rate of sale): $750 ¥75

Notes on above: permits are needed for owning horses, farming, or mining on property, and owning brewing stands on property. All non-horse animals are allowed to be ranched with purchase of the farming permit.

Yen is distributed via renamed papers (made from an anvil can only be stacked if made by same person so it's counterfeit proof) Values:

• ¥ 1 = $10/1 Gold Ingot
  
• ¥ .375 = 1 Lapis
• ¥ .75 = 1 Iron Ingot
  
• ¥ .15 = 1 Redstone dust.
• ¥ 2.5 = 1 Diamond

Yen Inflation Rate: 0%
100% = 50% of original conversion value
0% = Unchanged Yen to Gold to ECD conversions.

This of course leaves Japan with on two official currencies: The Eco Dollar($) and the Yen (¥)
These are usable for all purchases with the Japanese government ie: permits, land, etc. In-Town shops don't have to accept Yen but are obliged to.
Notice: Yen can be purchased for it's value in minerals or $10 per 1 Yen. Yen is redeemable to the government at any time for it's value in goods as listed above ie: gold or iron Yen. This service may only be denied if the government declares bankruptcy. In this case all of the government's assets will be sold off to compensate the loses of property,protection and the currency. This sale would include land, valuables and property held by the Emporer.

Failure to follow these rules is immediate eviction from the town or other penalizations by the emperor or High-Council.

Notes on above: Subsidy applications basically give you direct monetary aid of the treasury if you have proof of being scammed during your citizenship or your Edo property was griefed.

Other information:

Laws in Edo are made one of two ways. Being a Monarcho-republic, Edo has an emperor who can make laws at any time BUT may call citizens to vote in a direct democracy system on specific issues for example outdoor farming and mining. Edo is also capitalistic and unless seen fit the emperor is currently highly against any form of welfare. Edo also currently has 2 officiated flags. The middle flag is the rising sun edition and the left and right flags are the standard Japanese flag. There is also the embroidered flag and another version of the rising sun flag.

@lucient21 You are hereby fined for illegal mining operations discovered under your property. The fine totals $1500 or ¥150. This, as the town laws and the citizenship agreement clearly stated, is required payed before your leave of this town.

¥ or Yen has now begun the Printing process with a special distributer. Due to the ability to only be stacked if made by the same creator allows it to be counterfeit proof. If you scroll up to the treasury area that is where it shows how much metal/gems are in the treasury and below it shows how many bills have been printed.

 

Well I saw him, so proof will work as I'm the emperor. This will be approved leading to @kcrooks oweing you $1.4k by 1/31/15 or be evicted.

Japan has officially and finally revised taxes. They are removed and replaced by a permit system. Tax Credits will still exist but will be called subsidies and will instead go direct from the treasury. This will allow easier enterprise in town despite costing the gov't more. Good luck citizens enjoy the freedom.
