All taxes should be paid in accordance with the tax code explained below. All government owned land for sale may never exceed $750 per acre (100 square blocks) but civilian owned land may be sold between citizens for any price developed or undeveloped as long as it is surveyed after the sale by Edo Officials of the High Council or higher for taxation purposes. All citizens victims of property damage or scamming from citizens or non-citizens during their citizenship of Edo may apply for a government subsidy to ease the pain and encourage further economic risk taking. If it was caused by a fellow citizen ie: tagged animal slaughter, it should be referred to Article 3 property and the procedures listed there. Failure to follow these rules is immediate eviction from the town or other penalization by the Emperor or High-Council. Spoiler: Land Pricing (Only applies to Gov't sold land) 1 Acre of land = 100 square blocks Government price (doesn't apply to private real-estate sold by citizens this is purely the government rate of sale for un-owned town land): $750 Spoiler: Treasury Information Japanese Treasury: $4508 Notes on Above: The treasury is the amount of money the town itself this will grow by sold plots and taxes and decrease by public works projects, approved subsides and other expenses like public works. Spoiler: Tax Code Per Plot Tax: $150 per acre (100 square blocks) per day for every citizen Emperor, peasant, and all in between Taxes are due: Every Sunday of every week. People renting land don't pay taxes, only those who are in direct ownership of land are required to pay unless other private agreements or contracts have been made for join ownership of a plot. Spoiler: Information on how to calculate partial acreage If you own partial acres ie a 15x15 plot which is 225 square blocks, then you figure out the acreage of that land and apply it to the tax code. As our example of a 15x15 is 225 square blocks and an ace is 100 square blocks, we know that the 15x15 plot is 2.25 acres. 2.25 multiplied by $150 per acre is $375 per day or $2625 per week. How to pay: Pay to the Emperor upon seeing him on Sunday. If you have a secure area make a sign that you notify the Emperor about before your first due taxes and put your week's taxes inside so the Emperor can collect it. If you're offline prolonged and you've notified officials of Edo then your taxes will be due on the Sunday that comes after your return date with no extra cost as long as all taxes are paid for at that time. Notes on above: As explained in the treasury section taxes will go towards public works, subsidies, and other expenses. Spoiler: Subsidy Info & Application IGN: Proof of handled grief report/broken contract report: Proof of original contract (only for scams/broken contracts): Additional info: Notes on above: Subsidy applications basically give you direct monetary aid of the treasury if you have proof of being scammed during your citizenship or your Edo property in the town was griefed. The purpose is to both fix up town damage during grief or to promote business growth by covering the blows of getting scammed through gov't reimbursement and funding. Reason to collect subsidies: Proof of being scammed in, for example, a forum contract (while living in Edo) Grief (that happened in/on your Edo land that wasn't handled via rollback or for murdered animals or people in which damage was caused. Note Article 3's Property rules for more in depth info) Spoiler: High-Council Application [CLOSED] IGN: What is your current server rank: Proof of 3 month citizenship: Are you a landed citizen? (not a renter on someone else's land): Reason(s) why you want to be in the High-Council: Notes on Above: High-Council members are like advisers to the Emperor and some may aspire to co-own the town and help manage it.
