Well... I have seen both and I must say that they were extremely good but the Hobbit seemed a bit more interesting to me, not only because I have read the book like 10 times but because we finally got to see the wood elves(Woohooo for Tauriel!) and SMAUG (great voice acting there). However, there were at least 70 more people seeing the catching fire movie on opening day at my theatre then compared to the the Hobbit but it might be because it is simply a newer book shown to this generation of children. Anyway, just wondering if you guys have seen one or both of them and what was your favourite? :p

I don't like Hunger Games. Too predictable, cheesy, and everything is centered around the romance.

Those cliff hangers... Hunger games ending seemed better, but the hobbit was a better movie.

I could argue on that one. The meaning of the trilogy is not about love, but rather the fear of the people in a totalitarian government. The trilogy is very similar to a dystopian society story, such as 1984, A Brave New World, or Animal Farm. As for the movies, you really won't see this happen until Mockingjay P1.

The Hobbit movies, in my opinion, dragged on WAY too long with many pointless details that needn't have been included (is that a word?). The Hobbit was not even that long of a book... And each movie has been almost 3 hours long. I got bored of watching a 3 hour movie included with pointless details and times I can't even understand what the actors are saying...

The Hunger Games is a terrible concept. Children forced to kill other children in return for food. Like, what is this? This is NOT the kind of movie I would want to see. Yes, blood, violence, stabbing = cool, but not in ways that can really hurt children of the (pre)-teens' minds.

---Just as an example, remember that whole "Dark Knight" murdering thing that went on? Yeah, they were adults, and they were all affected...
