Hi, My name is bhwebworld and I have been inactive on ECC for nearly a year. Upon returning to ECC I noticed some changed that I'm not exactly happy about. 1st - Since when did melons sell for under a dollar? I don't feel like the 350k melon swords are even close to worth the time and money anymore. 2nd - Since when did towns cost so little? I remember being able to sell a 200x200 flat melon farm easily for over 150k. Now, I can barely even get someone to offer me 50 for my town. 3rd- When did SG become so overpowered. I remember SG being a quick mini-game that would give me a break from whatever task I was doing at the moment. Now, I find it being my primary source of income. So in conclusion. Farming appears to be extremely useless, along with selling towns. The only real way to make money on the server right now are SG and of course lotto. I haven't seen the prices for mining but I'm assuming that they are similar to the prices of farming. Can someone please tell me another way to make some money because the only way I see how at the moment is survival games. Thanks, bhwebworld
Melons swords are 900k, melons are around 1.65 each (use /worth). Depends on the buyer, but 50k is a lot for a a flat town. Kits led to more income and many people bought them. It is the primary source of income for many.
Yup that's what I've been noticing and trying to change, the whole server loves the broken sg plugin too much to look at ways to change it
Still if you bought a melon sword you would have to get over 545k melons before you started making a profit on the sword.
I did not realize the server had become the "#1 earn-crazy-money-super-fast-no-work-needed-#eazy economy server". My apologies, I was under the impression it was still considered a "hardcore economy server"
My bad I did not realize the server had become the "#1 if you pay lots of real money you can win all the fake money in the world by playing survival games and for the other people who don't have all that real money can stay poor forever economy server" My apologies, I was under the impression it was still considered a "hardcore economy server"
This is grossly over-exaggerated. I don't play survival games and I have minimal donation features and I make money just fine. There are plenty of other ways to earn a living than farming and sg, and if you're too distraught about it to even try, then that's on you. Nobody's keeping you here bro.
Mine, Farm, SG, Build, Jobs, Selling Towns/Plots, Lottery, Stock Trader, Sportsbook, Competitions, Flipping Tools and PvP/Nether.
Mining idk, farming is basically worthless, jobs are scarce, buying / selling towns = small profit margin, lotto is shady, stock trader and sports book are good, competitions happen rarely, idk what flipping tools mean, people are rarely in pvp, idk about the nether, and as previously stated it is very hard to win sg without kits.
Stock trader, sportsbook, selling plots/apartments/houses, flipping towns (fairly profitable since towns, as you pointed out, are conveniently cheap now), shops, and voting (you'll also notice the player-player netherstar market has grown and become more competitive in the last year).
I'll share mine too, for the sake of it. I make money netherwart farming with a Fortune 3 pick and Fly. I also use the Stock Trader heavily and dabble in SG when I don't lag (I used to play hardcore SG, but I steered away due to Buffer and came back after the nerf). Basically, farming is A+ moneymaking. Just farm netherwart with Netflix on half of your screen. Knock out a few episodes of your favorite show, and boom, you have money from farming while you do it. Or, you can do that same thing with mining. Mine in a 2x1 corridor straight ahead, mining every ore you see at y=11. 10k per hour solid. But, as always, Netflix or a television helps to ease the pain.
I make around 10-15k per hour. Depends on your herbalism level. If you can get your herbalism high, I know for a fact it can make 15k per hour, if not more.
I think I've played a handful of SG games ever. I've won one of them. However, it's not the only way to be successful (evidence here)... farming, mining, trading and selling items/tools, entering server contests... There is so much out there if you just look for a niche and try to fill it in a way no one else can, just like in the real world. When non-SG PvP was big, I specialized in potions. Need food? I've got that. Donation services like e-repairs and /smelt? Sure, I can do that. But, the fad for things come and go, so you have to learn, adapt and react to channel your marketing to another avenue as required.
Mining mining mining mining losing money in lotto mining mining mining mining mining... With an eff5 fort3 unb3 pick (worth like 10k) you can easily make up to 15k an hour (as long as you have a high mining and you probably need mcmmobonusplus as well) The key is to mine EVERYTHING, coal is money! iron is money! gold is money! EVERYTHING IS MONEY. And use superbreaker as much as you possibly can. A dilligent builder can get to resident in 4 hours, and get mayor in about 12-14 hours. (I've played on alts and this is from my own experience) As for farming, it's not good for beginners and requires a buttload of features and an efficient farming setup. So this isn't at all a good money making method for newbies. For resident+ you can just buy towns from people and sell plots to newbs. It can make a decent amount of money, but you'll have to deal with grief and headaches caused by fighting children. (reason I don't do this) SG is plausible due to the 1/4 no-kit matches, the recent nerf of buffer and the new items added in chests creating more variety in gameplay. Although still dominated by kits, it is no longer a necessity to have kits in SG. And you can always buy kits as you make money in the game, increasing your chance. Some people with more money use the stocks and sportsbook to make money, I've no experience with that so I can't say anything about that. And selling towns has never been a good money making method.. because people are unlikely to give you more money than what you paid for. It would have to be a really good town for that. If you have a problem with any kind of money making method then why not try something else. In the end this is a game where you set your own goals. As much as ECC is focused on money money money, you don't necessarily need a lot of money to be successful.
The reason melons are priced below two dollars mainly is because there is little to no effort required to get the stable source of income from it; it has been tested and adjusted accordingly to prevent people making too much money from such a low-effort way of farming.
Umm... don't forget that the melon sword itself has value. You can always resell it. Therefore, when you buy a melon sword, you are already at around 0 dollars profit (no negative, no positive) depending on market fluctuations.
