The fortnightly EcoCityCraft newsletter by eekelmo and TaylorBros22 - 2nd Edition - -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The EcoCity Times is run by eekelmo and @TaylorBros22, it is a fortnightly newsletter that uses something called 'cycles', one cycle is two weeks. Note: I apologise for the lateness of this edition, I've had issues with getting an interview due to timezones, and I also managed to lose the draft I wrote up for this cycle's edition, and therefore had to re-write it. Thank you everyone that has put time and effort into this competition! Here are some images of the builds: @Zedoker's build. Full album here. The Epicure Team's build. Full album here. The Importance of Contract Writing TaylorBros22 EcoCity Times Reporter Lately, contracts has been the talk of the town. The EcoCity Times reports on the importance of writing a proper, fluid, easy to understand contract. Contracts are an essential part of EcoCityCraft (‘ECC’ from here on in) due to the fact they help users everday with transactions of EcoDollars, Tools, Services and Donation Features. As a result of this, it is imperitive that they are written correctly and in a way which is easy to understand for both staff and the other party invovled and also for the contract initiator to understand. Contracts form the basis of a complaint, so it is crucial they are done properly. Below are some tips on how to write a contract, so that it doesn’t fall down as evidence or get denied straight away. Always tag usernames. As the rules currently stand, you are required to tag both yours and the other person(s) involved in the contract. Use and ‘@’ sign to do this. When asked to state the ‘General Purpose’ of the contract, give a brief overview of what the contract is there for. For example, if I am giving 265 a loan of 20,000ECD with 25,000ECD payback in one week, I should state this, tagging 265 and myself with the ‘@’ symbol. “I, @TaylorBros22, am giving @265 a loan of 20,000 ECD with a 25,000ECD payback in 1 week from the contract being accepted” If late fee’s are involved, staff will only enforce reasonable and capped fee’s. Reasonable fee’s are fee’s which are not extortionat, such as 100,000ECD per day late. A late fee depends on the loan amount/tool worth, but usually 1,000-6,000 is the norm. Late fees must be capped. Staff will not enforce late fees if there is no time limit on them. “If @265 is late with payback, @265 is required to pay 2,000ECD per day for one (1) week, after such time a complaint will be filed” As the contract initiator, you are responsible for taking timestamped screenshots, done by double tapping F2, and laying out the terms you will uphold to. “I, @TaylorBros22, agree to pay @265 20,000ECD as soon as the contract is approved” When laying out what is expected of the other user(s) involved, you should be clear and concise, this will make the staff member reading it feel better in accepting it, and make the other user(s) happier to accept it. Leave nothing open to interpretation. “@265 agrees to pay 25,000ECD on or before the 26th March 2016 (1 week from now). @265also agrees to 2,000ECD late fees for up to a week after the 26th March. If the full amount payable is not paid on or before the 2nd April 2016, @265 agrees that a complaint will be filed.” Always ensure you read and agree to the last question. The other user(s) agreeing to the contract should ensure that they understand what they are agreeing to and if they don’t understand, they should ask the contract initiator to explain it to them before signing it. To conclude, always remember to tag usernames, use dates and times, be concise and always read what you are agreeing to, before agreeing. Town of the Cycle This weeks town of the cycle is 'P' (Owned by @THCOOL) - the reason it has been chosen is because of the facilities it makes available to new players such as a huge farm so they can make money and get food. https://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/warp-p-official-town-thread.146404/ If you would like to nominate a town please forum PM me. We're looking for towns that may look fantastic, contribute to the server etc. Player of the Cycle We've chosen two players for this cycle: @3point14mp We congratulate 3point on getting every single forum medal possible, 3point is currently the only user to have done this. @AdmiralD Admiral was chosen because of his constant positive attitude and general kindness that he offers to our community. Thanks Admiral! If you’d like to nominate a player please forum PM Taylorbros and I. We're looking for players that have shown great amounts of contribution to the community, have accomplished some impressive things etc.
This makes me sad. ;-; Anyway, thank you for this... um... let's call it 'semimonthly' newsletter update. Shouldn't this be 2 instead of 1?
Yay! Finally up! Feels good to be working for a Newspaper again, especially co-running it with eek . If you guys want an article to be written/featured, please forum PM myself and eekelmo. Cheers
I think that because he isn't in *cough* EST, he sees the date as March 2nd rather than March 1st. Among other things, he's stated before that he sees my join date as April 10th when it was for me the 9th.
It's terribly lacking compared to Zedo's and Epicure's but <3. You also kinda forgot Jackson just a little bit
No apostrophe in fees! Is the player now called eekelmo the one who used to be called eekelmo and also something like burnsy?
