The bi-weekly EcoCityCraft newsletter by 265/eekelmo - 1st Edition - -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The EcoCity Times is run by eekelmo, it is a bi-weekly newsletter that uses something called 'cycles', one single is two weeks. The EULA - What does it mean for EcoCityCraft? Odds are you’ve come across some of the controversy and drama surrounding Mojang’s EULA update, but what does it mean for EcoCityCraft? In a thread by andrewkm, he answered various questions. The general gist is that it means that ECC will be forced to remove features that give players advantages over others from the store, with JamieSinn saying ‘From what I can tell. The features that would have to be removed from the shop are(including respective upgrades.): /repairfrom EXTCommands Anvil block from EXTCommands+ Fly/Speed Teleport Water Pyro Investigator’ Although considering there are many other features that give players advantages over others, this list is likely incomplete. These features would be removed from the store and become purchasable with EcoDollars (ECD) - not like how we do it today where you give someone ECD and then they buy you a feature, instead you will be able to use a command that takes the ECD out of your account, and gives you the feature. Andrewkm stated that the command would be something like ‘/buyfeature investigator’. Currently it seems as though the price will be around 15K/USD, the date of this happening is unknown. Please note that in the beginning of the thread andrewkm says ‘we may have to change quite a few things on ECC’, this means that the removal of the features is not yet in stone. Staff Team Changes Recently we’ve seen a lot of changes to the staff team; Congratulations to Alarah and cdlawrence for joining the staff team, they’re currently moderators. Zr2002 and DrowningInPizza are now Supermods, and unfortunately Joliver, miniclh and ze7707 are no longer on staff. Nicit6: I don't remember, honestly. It's been a while. eekelmo: What was it like being a Server Admin/+? Nicit6: I just kinda... was. Keeping things in order and running things was just my job. It's not really like anything I can describe, you either know what leading a team is like... or you'll find out in time. eekelmo: How did you feel about leaving staff after being on the team for so long? Nicit6: Eh, it was just something I felt like was necessary. eekelmo: What are your current goals? Nicit6: I don't really play ECC enough to have ECC goals anymore. IRL, working towards that 3.5 GPA and degree. eekelmo: How are you finding college? Nicit6: College is easier than paying for college. Eats a ton of time. No idea how @Dewsy92 managed to balance the two so well. He's my superhero eekelmo: Do you like Doctor Who? Nicit6: Never heard of that show before, don't know what you're on about. eekelmo: If you could change one thing about the server what would it be? Nicit6: I'd love if we could simplify the rules and actually crack down on toxic behaviors and players. It'd do a lot for this community.
