Welcome to the first edition of the ECC Chronicle. This edition has taken us a while to put together, although I believe we have a great first issue full of interesting interviews, thought-provoking articles, fun features and even a chance to win big! The ECC Chronicle will survive for as long as you keep reading it, submitting your stories and advertising. Remember you can apply for advertisements here. As ever, we are always looking for new reporters and stories – you can find out more here. I’d like to thank all the reporters this week who have made the first edition possible (Karin, Softly, Helen, Arthur, CP3 and Strongpelt) and a massive thank you to Karin who has produced our great graphics! I hope you enjoy this issue! If you have any comments, please leave them below. TaylorBros22 Editor Our first report comes from @HelenDKN who went to check out the Easter Builds for this years Easter Competition! From headless rabbits, to calls for @TomKFC to be promoted to SA, the Easter build competition is full of amazing builds made of blood, sweat and tears. The winners will be decided between the 17th and 22nd of April where they will receive a gift card, a star key, event medal and some spawn eggs. Some builds take the classic Easter egg style, whilst others crossed over Nintendo and Easter to incorporate Yoshi into their design. Another builder used a common Minecraft build style in pixel art! One aspiring winner that I spoke to, @neecoalage, decided upon the classic Easter egg style, with a bunny on top. She claims it took ‘many hours’ in single player to ‘adapt her original idea to work’. A lot of time and dedication went into this build and it has paid off to make this incredible build. To check out the builds yourself, use the command /warp build1 and look at all the unique and amazing builds. Make sure to reply or comment which build is your favourite! Our second report is by @CP3fan1 who will be doing a weekly economy analysis! Hello! This will be a featured section in The ECC Chronicle in every edition. It will focus on the server economy, and specifically how that economy is working for players in different ways. This week I will be giving my personal opinion on mining as a money method versus other grinding techniques. While mining is obviously profitable with the right tools, the truth is that most of us don’t have eff7 pickaxes. That being said, when using max tools, the difference in per hour rates in mining and other methods are extreme. In my opinion, mining should have the most potential yield because of the inherent risk you take when mining with lava, pitfalls, dungeons, monsters, and the like. The risk alone is enough to scare some people away from taking valuable tools into the mines when they could just safely fish instead. Mining is very luck based which is consistent with fishing, but when compared side by side, fishing offers a lot more potential. If I fish for an hour with a max rod I can usually muster up 20-30k an hour because of the high value of puffers and tropical fish. However, with mining it seems like half the resources that we work so hard to obtain are not nearly valuable enough to even bother picking up. I find myself constantly leaving behind coal, lapis, and gold because the exchange rates are so terrible. If I were to make a recommendation to the admins it would be to increase the worth of those minerals, especially gold, because they simply don’t pay enough for how rare they are, and it has made mining the clear last choice in terms of money methods. We sent @Karin_88 out on a mission to interview our new ECC Staff! This week, we got an interview with @cjmk75. Hello, cjmk75! How are you today? I am great! How are you? I'm doing well! Do you mind if I do a short interview with you about your return to staff? Not at all! I would love to answer your questions! When was the last time you were on staff on ECC, and what was your previous rank? Okay I was promoted to staff on Sept 19th, 2017, and had to resign on May 1st, 2018 because school was getting overwhelming. My previous rank was a SuperMod. Totally understandable, sometimes life can get in the way. How long have you been on staff so far this round? This is my 10th day of being back (4/7) on the staff team and honestly I forgot just how much I really missed being apart of the team, working together to grow and improve ECC's community! The staff team is kind of like one big family isn't it? Have there been any major differences between staff now, and staff in 2017/2018? Like as far as what you're expected to do as a new moderator maybe? Yes, that is one of the things I love most about being apart of the staff team, is that it is like we are a famiy Some of the biggest changes are definitely with the new Main North and Main East servers, now a large part of our jobs are helping new and returning players understand travel[ing] between servers. As well as chat rules have really loosened up a lot since I was last on staff. Yes, with so many new servers, it must be exciting, and a bit overwhelming at times! What's been your favorite, or most memorable, moment so far since being back on staff? Since I have returned to the staff team I have already had an amazing time bonding with the staff, but one of my most memorable moments so far was building a cave house with blazwura97 and Tom in the wild and just getting to bond with them Oh wow, that sounds like a lot of fun! One last closing question, what's one thing you hope to achieve this round as a staff member? Well seeing as I am finally done with school, I have a lot more time to put into ECC. I plan on doing my absolute best to help the community. I also am planning on staying on the team much longer this time around as I honestly wish I had never had to leave before. We hope you stick around much longer as well. Thank you so much for your time answering these questions! Thank you so much, I am really looking forward to getting to know all of the staff even more while working to make sure everyone has a great experience on ECC Cove Casino Ever had that urge to gamble, but didn’t want to lotto your money away? The coronavirus may have kept us all inside for the past few weeks, but that didn’t stop the crowd from coming to Minewars! There was no six foot gap between players last Saturday, that’s for sure! Minewars had a full house and hosted the biggest Minewars since returning in 2019, both in attendance and bids. The doors opened at 6pm and the bids came rushing in! Locker #1 was the first locker up, and OtterInAOnesie snatched the locker with a bid of $452,000! The bids only increased from there, folks. The highest regular locker bid was by BobbyBlack, who bid $1,260,000 on Locker #7. Bobby was pleasantly surprised to find a Star Tool (of his choice!) in the Locker! This Star Tool offer was 1 of 2 hidden in the Minewars lockers this month. The other Star Tool winner was Zedoker! Congrats to the both of you! As always, Minewars ends with the Premium Locker! The Premium Locker is the locker at the end of the hallway which is a Server-Sponsored locker. The winner of April’s Premium Locker was revanrose6, with a whopping bid of $3,050,000! Her favorite item among the many she received from the Premium Locker was her shiny new Star Rod. Congratulations once again to everyone on their lockers! It is suffice to say that this month’s Minewars was an unforgettable one, and all of us on the Minewars Organization Team are ecstatic to see you next month! May’s Minewars will be held on Saturday, May 2nd at 6pm. See you all there! In partnership with @OtterInAOnesie’s new farm, we are launching the first of many competitions! All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is reply to the thread with anything you like. We will then use a random number generator to pick a winner (each reply will be numbered sequentially) and we will announce the winner in next week’s issue. This week, you have the chance to win a year’s worth of FREE perms at Otter’s farm (/warp otter), worth 150,000ECD! The new farm at /warp otter is a one-row inventory filling farm which has only recently been opened. With perms priced at 150,000ECD you stand a chance to make a whole lot of profit! That concludes our first issue of the ECC Chronicle. Thank you to all of the reporters, to everyone who participated in an interview, to all our advertisers and to Otter for giving us our first competition! Remember, to win, all you have to do is reply below! If you have any comments, suggestions or stories please let me know! I hope we'll see you next week for our next issue!
