So, i had an idea right now for the currently pointless upgrade to captain. The aether is about building, and we are resetting it soon, so why not send off the new aether witha new perk? My suggestion is this: Make it so that aether captains can, ONLY if they have the right tool for the block, destroy them instantly creative mode status, but without the infinite items. They would not need to have the tool in their hand, just in their inventory, and it would degrade that tool accordingly. Also, if possible, make it so that although they dont have infinite items, once they get to one block in their slotted inventory it starts automatically pulling blocks from inner inventory so you can just build. I would love this, or maybe you could make it a donation instead, just an idea. Have fun with it
One thing that I can see would be a probabky prevent this from happening is speed diamond mining. You could just reaps ur a regular diamond pick every so often, and then find diamonds extremely quick. I know there has been some controversy about speed building, maybe it could be a perk (just in the aether) where a new rank (or captain) could speed build. This would make it easier to build for those that got fly and have aether access.
Would be nice if Captains could have some kind of new stack command that allows larger stacks; 128, or whatever 64+64 is, lol. Maybe making it so beds slept on in the Aether count as a "third" home; but it automatically adds "aether" to the end. That way, even if you don't have Multihomes, you get another home for the Aether. /home, /home bed, and /home bedaether. Honestly, I think there should honestly be just /fly available to Captains, only in the Aether. 'cept Andrew won't give up any for of donation features to non-donation methods... :/ I don't know if Ender Pearls still "teleport" (by Minecraft default), but if they do (and assuming they are disabled right now), could Captains be allowed to use those in the Aether for another means of transportation..? It's a transportation method that comes with Minecraft by default, so I don't see a reason why it'd have any conflict with donation teleport features.
I'm not 100% sure what I think they should get. However I do believe there needs to be something. All ranks should have some sort of benefit. Even if it's a small... semi-pointless benefit. Just a little something to say "Yea, I got that.". Other than just a title on the forums. Which is all it seems to be at the moment. Giving people /fly while in the Aether would be too much I think. Especially for those Aether hobbits who would go in there and build forever and not really come out. Unless flying in general would be disabled in the Aether and then enabled for those who have paid for the feature... which just sounds wierd... After all, you do start out as a pilot. Hmm... I'll try to put more thought into and see if I can come up with anything that might sound kinda like a suggestion.
