@andrewkm After putting hours of work into perfecting my first video to help promote your server, you abruptly end the competition and don't even let all the applicants post their own submissions. Thanks to @Maco20047 for helping to inspire me to make this "video." Sad to see it'll never get finished. Deadline was to be announced and the competition was to be 7-14 days. Great way to be supportive of your own community and give them plenty of time.
It was a pleasure working on this with you. Though our 16+ hours spent on this was for practically nothing, we made an awesome "video." Maybe we can do something like this in the future together.
Andrew I think that you should of gave some warning and I believe that videowiz should get something for this.
This situation doesn't happen in just competitions, things like this happen all the time on E.C.C, creative options are put to rest because of an admin's say, which makes sense... I guess? Considering he said 7-14 days, which I guess is warning enough? This is the exact reason I didn't make a video, I knew something like this would happen. Whatever though, the thought is what counts, I know how long you and Maco put into this project just by the looks, great video, and I hope you both are some way rewarded for your hardwork.
This is NOT the first time a server event has been.... screwed up. I recently competed so, so very hard the the sg cup. I finished in 9th place. Long story short, they changed the whole thing to where points did not count. I asked around (to staff) and aparently 'nothing changed'. Im not sure if I understand this thread, but I think what i am explaining (server events not being organized) is basically what the thhread is about. Bottom line is, this needs to change. It is getting ridiculous. Sorry that all of your hard work and time was wasted, videowiz. I know the feeling all too well. I bet you wont be participating in any more server events, will you!
It happens every time. Something always changes. Theres always something 'forgotten to be announced'. All i want is an explanation so we, as a community, can make suggestions. I don't want excuses, i don't want anyone to beat around the bush, i just want an explanation.
To be frank, andrew was right/wrong in the same situation. That video was incredible. I saw it coming that he was going to lock the thread. It's unfortunate that your's wasn't finished. I really enjoyed that video. I'm sorry that this happened.
I'm sorry you didn't get your entry in on time, but the contest began on the 17th and ended on the 24th: 7 days, as Revan/Andrew said. Andrew outlined the guidelines, the arrangements were made, and even warned to get started as soon as possible. Nothing was changed: he literally copy/pasted the deadline guidelines for the last 2 video competitions and used them for this one. I'll be locking this to prevent further conflagration.
