We have noticed that today that team speak has been very echo y (is that a word), it has been coming and going. We have tried to disconnect and re start team speak. It clears the echo for a few moments and then is back again. There is also a buzz from some players.

I have been using a head set and mic and others are using in built mics. We dont know if this is causing the problems

I did this it was my end that was the problem, but this seems to be happening to a few players.

This is the fault of the people who use speakers instead of headphones/earphones, maybe even in combination with not using push to talk.

It's always someone else, because teamspeak itself doesn't work with a protocol that re-sends packets, so the only way it could echo is because someone is echoing.

It only takes one person "echoing" to make everyone in the channel experience the echoing. One person talks, that other guy picks it up, sends in back through his mic, and everyone has heard you twice.

If everyone is having it, and it comes and goes whether it happens or not, the only explanation was that someone was indeed echoing a bit. Who was in the channel? Are you sure everyone was using a headset? (And even if they are, there are still ways to echo, you'd be surprised. It's entirely possible with some headsets to set it so every sound your computer picks up and plays through your speakers gets picked up by the mic, by just setting your mic to play any "inputs" your speaker outputs. In other words, someone talks on TS in his channel, and he "says" exactly what they say, in their voice, word for word.)

Even if someone was using a headset, there could still be echo. For instance, my current headset echo's when I have my sound up too high. I now have to keep it extremely low.
