Thats the rule. And now people are getting warned/kicked/banned for just one of those slip ups. I mean, I see these complaints out there because someone said F***. http://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=122&t=18138 And its just ridiculous to think that players are taddling on someone whom hasn't broken the rules? Chill out guys. Thats all I have to say.
sorry. it says directed at another player is intolerable. Shut the f*** up is quite direct. as well, if you noticed, we warned him, not a ban. just listing facts.
Look at this; http://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=122&p=87640#p87640 I mean, I see where hes coming from, but is it REALLY worth wasting a mods time? Did he REALLY think that this was top priority and needs to be handled asap? I hate to put you on blast, but unnecessary complaints are unnecessary.
Yes, it is worth "Wasting" a mods time. If complaints like this weren't ever made, anyone could get away with this stuff as much as they liked and we would have users all over the place calling people noobs and telling people to "shut the f*** up". Without these complaints, the server wouldn't have a very 'friendly' community which is not a desirable place to play the game. Complaints also get "noted" sometimes, meaning that of that user keeps it up and it's a constant problem, punishment can be given. Without this punishment being given for these very small infractions of the rules being repeatedly broken, we would have users roaming around everywhere breaking the rules just enough for it to be a problem, but not enough to get in trouble. Without these complaints, the server wouldn't have a very friendly community and thus making the server an unenjoyable environment for everyone. How would you feel if I kept harassing you and you couldn't do anything about it because it wasn't bad enough to 'waste' a mods time? I'm sure you would be annoyed if it happened to you.
You have a point, but think, Noob can refer to as new players, correct? So if I go to spawn and say, hey noobs, come with me to free plots, and someone made a complaint for me using it as a derogatory term, I would be upset, as I used it as a classification, not a derogatory term. As for the scenario that you posted, I'm talking about the "Oh damn I just lost some diamonds", not the "Hey s**tface whats up". The second is harassment/actual swearing, and IS against the rules.
You've got a point there. However, some people will find it more offensive than just calling them Newbies. As you notice in the screenshot in the second complaint you linked, the user was specifically trying to use it as an insult. Even if not, he likely put a bunch of people who weren't newbies into the group for no reason. I was referring to using it that way. Well, if that's the case, that's fine. Nobody is breaking a rule. The complaints you linked both were actually breaking a rule though, so I made my post with that in mind.
Just thought i would show up again. First of all, it always worth our time. Thats what moderators are for, to deal with things that are small so supers and andrew can deal with the big, important stuff. If this doesnt get reported the first time, they could get away with it for quite some time before caught, then warned, and must do even more to get banned. Always report if it is directed at a player. Second, in regards to noob, you also have the option of saying new players. I could call my brother retarded, only meaning he is being dumb, but if an actually mentally ill person (or parents etc.) Hears it, it is still offensive. My 2 cents have been inputted. But we dont have enough for a gumball yet.
