For all of those who have surpassed that million dollar milestone, how would you suggest those striving for that goal to get there: Farming? Mining? Other? (please explain) On behalf of all the builders/noobs, thank you for your opinions!
@bomberaz1 I have features to let me be immune to lava for mining and I do mining more. If you want to mine, you start from ok tools and growing up to more efficient tools like eff5 silk touch and/or eff 5 fortune. If you like to farm, Sometimes you have to replant and that to me is a downside. Timewise I would go mining at level 8. You can also sell your items to other players above server price which gets you profit. It all depends on what you like to do best. I hope this helps
Very good advice. I have no features for lava, so mine at 11 w/ eff 5 fortune. Is there a benefit to silk touch vs. fortune for mining? Also, without a store, how easy is it to sell 64 iron blocks (example) in Tr chat? Call me a hoarder, but I have a ton of my mining goodies stocked up in chests just waiting for me to decide what to do with them. Should I just sell to server or hold out and hit up trade chat?
I haven't reached 1 mil yet but I sold a lot of iron, gold, lapis, and redstone to the server and got my ranks faster. I supplement that with cocoa bean farming (I paid for farm rights) and careful nstar trading with players. Another way for me to raise my balance faster is to do planting or place blocks for people. It may sound boring to do but I actually met some of the friendliest players on the server this way, so I recommend it highly for those just starting out.
Taking jobs is one thing I haven't done yet. Would you say mining or contracting out for work makes more money? I like mining and I like building... But I like making money the most, so uncovering whatever is the most lucrative way to get to a million is the main goal for this post. Thoughts?
Mining defiantly makes the most. Other things are nice though to mix it up when you're super sick of mining or towards the end of the month when the mining world is destroyed.
Well, a silk touch, you can take the ores and take them to a place where no one is near. You can then fortune them at once and use Super Breaker. I just use a macro where I use silk touch but when I get to specific ores, I have the macro switch to my fortune pick.
Well I personally haven't reached 1 mil yet but the way I get my money is Building for people, like just yesterday I got 35k in 1.5 hours, just saying its not always going to give you a lot of money but it's a lot of fun in my opinion, if your good at building then ask people to hire you to make a building of some sort, there's lots of them, plus if you ever get fly, I have a job that you can do for 100,000$
Patience is the only way. Set goals and stick to them. Little by little it will all add up and you will be a millionaire before you know it. Good Luck!
Wow, 35k in less than 2 hours, that is impressive! Definitely can't do that mining... at least not starting out. I may be reaching out to you once I do get fly and take you up on that offer. Has anyone been successful with the stock market component of the game? I may start playing around with that after hitting resident (just submitted app).
Well, the stock market doesn't make that much money if any at all, I have tried it several times but I always loose my money without making anything
I don't even get the idea of stock market. If you want to do that stuff, I would do sportsbook instead.
If you would like some tips while mining... 1. Use your super breaker mcmmo ability as much as possible 2. Mine in the mining world (always have armor and a weapon, however) 3. Since you do not have pyro+, use fire resistance potions instead. You can find them incredibly cheap, or make them yourself 4. As you do not have enchanted repair, perhaps have two pickaxes so that you can mine longer without having to ask for a repair, or mine while asking in trade for a repair. If you can't afford a second pick though, it isn't really necessary.

The sportsbook gives you a better chance of winning, what I suggest is you bet on the game that has the most money put on it and you will most likely win alot of money
Just msg me ingame and I'll do your repairs/smelts for free. I used to play the stock market and overall I came out ahead but decided it was just too risky. Stick to the tried and true methods. When you make money, put it in the bank and forget you have it. It's a slow go but you can definitely do it! Do you plan on doing any farming? If so, let me know and I can give you perms to a really good farm. I remember when I first joined I farmed wheat until my eyes bled Keep us posted on how it's going.
BTW Krobkins I am deeply sorry that I haven't done much with the ice wall, I have been super busy with some stuff with other people and IRL, plus I am going to have a new sister and I am going to be taking over a lot of my moms business for a month or so, so I am really sorry but I will get it done sometime but its going to be a while... I already do some of these, but didn't think to get fire resistance potions as an alternative... Thanks for the tip! For some reason the super breaker glitches out on me and leaves an invisible block(s) requiring me to reconnect to see it and mine it. Almost died one time from being suffocated by an invisible block (can't break). Luckily I decided to dig down to get out. Any idea how to resolve this glitch/anyone else experiencing it? Luckily I am connected to a player with enchanted repair who helps me out with that. I hope noobs read this because you all are giving some legit tips.
