Alright I do not give 1 single damn if you are gay, straight, bisexual, pansexual, etc. What I do give a DAMN about is when people get warned or told to not use the word "Gay" when it's in an appropriate setting. Even words like homosexual, lesbian, transgender (so on, I don't know many terms). If someone in chat says "Yeah I'm gay" good for them, cool. Does it affect anyone? No not really. If you say something like "This member is gay" or "I hate lotto it's gay" or "**** you you're a f*g" That's not cool. Not cool at all. But I really do not see a problem with using the word gay, homosexual, etc. In public chat channels if it is a civilized discussion or simply telling people you are gay or are bisexual or so on. In global about 5 minutes ago a user said "X person is gay" they were told not to use that term, 2 minutes later someone said "X person is straight". Basically the opposite right... no warnings at all even though it was an assumption of sexuality. Why is it that the word gay is offensive and not straight. Lets make the words fine to use, meaning no warnings unless they're used in a negative way. Surprised people still get warned for using the word "Gay" in a sentence. It's the 21st century.
+1 Tbh, its more discriminatory and offensive to NOT allow people to express their preferences without getting in trouble.
+1 Unfortunately in the 21st century children learn to sue people who offend them with "bad words" instead of sticks and stones.
why does it matter? I mean sure I support but the question remains why does it need to be discussed here at all, I would rather keep all discussions of sexuality away from people under the age of 18 regardless of preference
I'm going to instead be "heartless" here and suggest that any reference/discussion of personal sexuality should be outright banned. All I can see happening from this is a few trolls saying "I'm gay" in chat every couple of minutes and then when staff try to crack down on that, they'll just say that "We're just talking about our personal seuxality! Why did you warn us?!" - More trolling in chat is definitely something I wouldn't want and this is literally just giving trolls more tools to troll with. I really don't see the need to discuss personal sexuality in public anyway. It's more of a personal/private thing, so keep it that way.
You really only need to announce it once. It's not so much wanting everyone to admit they're gay in global, just if someone says "Oh yeah my friend is gay and blah blah, etc" they shouldn't be warned for it.
Completely agree with this. There is absolutly no need for people to dicuss their sexuality publicly inside of a game
I agree with the fact that it doesnt need to be discused in the game, but people under the age of 18 have sexualitys, too.
I'm more worried about possible breaking of irl laws because of discussing that kind of stuff with minors
I don't see how we can have "gay" be disallowed while "straight" is allowed. Either both are allowed, or neither. Anything else is highly discriminatory.
Is it really necessary though? I really can only see trolls abusing the hell out of this. Your sexual orientation is more of a private thing - The whole world really doesn't need to know it.
I don't think any new rules should be created nor a public message saying "YES you can say gay in global now". Just don't warn people if they use the word appropriately.
what about "gay" from deck the halls = don we now are gay appearal fa la la etc they use gay as the term for gay before its was known as it is now it was known as another word for happy
Let the adults talk timmy. I have to agree with the users above there is no reason to declare your sexulaity, we are not a dating website and it just has no reason because at the end of the day we are all just playing minecraft and it doesnt matter.
mrw 14 years old ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ But in all seriousness, I agree with USA. The trolls will most likely abuse the heck out of this, and there's no reason to declare your sexuality in chat. -1
