The following suggestion contains certain opinions, views and assumptions, some of which may be incorrect. Please leave your comments below in support or denial of this suggestion. Minecraft Name: Dccciz Suggestion: My suggestion is to: Recruit more staff members, so that some are able to monitor PvP and/or SG. or Train existing staff members to be able to recognize hacking or Recruit a specially trained team that is able to recognize hacks. Reason: I'm honestly getting sick and tired of all of the hackers that get away with it. For example, anyone can go out and download a hacked client, and enable tracers. There's no way to get caught, as of my knowledge. There's a pretty much 0% chance of getting caught, unless the server has some prevention method, or if someone gets their hands on some solid evidence such as this. There are also a countless number of other hackers out there. Everyone who is a big SG player knows who hacks, and who doesn't. As well as stealing other people's hard fought money. I'd love to conduct an experiment where someone would install a hacked client, and start to play SG. The player probably wouldn't be banned for ~10 days (my estimate). The evidence that is submitted (most of the time) is too laggy, or it doesn't show hacks. If we had mods patrolling SG, the players could be caught, without the need to record. I'm not suggesting that we have a mod in every arena, 24/7. Instead, I am suggesting that we periodically have mods join SG arenas, and spectate for a game or two. Even this would drastically decrease the amount of hackers. Even this would drastically decrease the amount of hackers. _______________________________________________________________________ A second thing, not related to the suggestion, is harassment. I've done it also, and sometimes still do it, but at one time in someone's SG career, they get accused of hacking. This is for everyone, including myself. We all need to stop accusing people of hacking. Maybe the person who you accused actually does hack, in which case, if the above suggestion is accepted, they will be banned for hacking. This was just yesterday... If everyone stops accusing each other, things would be so much better. Any Other Information: No. Link To This Plugin: There is no plugin for this suggestion. Tagging Navy to help with grammar issues. @NAVYSEALS2000 I know this suggestion is going to be denied, and I probably just wasted an hour of my life typing this, but everyone in the community knows that something needs to happen, and it needs to happen now. So please, take this into consideration. Thanks, Dccciz
There was an old suggestion for a staff team dedicated to finding sg hackers, I didn't really go searching for it (too lazy). Personally I think that kuke and unknown are doing a fine job as it is, and in the end they know more about hackers then any other staff member. So unless kuke and unknown randomly quit being staff then I think we are fine as it is. As for the part where people accuse people of "hacks".... The best thing to do is literally get over it. Its a simple word, and without proof to back up that word it just shows that they are simply upset over losing. If you don't have a hacked client, then it shouldn't bother you in my opinion. I've seen an increase in complaints where a user just said "hacker" and then the other user posted a complaint on him. Those complaints get nowhere and you are literally just better off typing /ignore or just get over it. ^This is what the community needs more of. Suggestions for the community as a whole, instead of just to the server. Suggestions for the community by the community will most likely stop the server from dieing out in the near future.
Red is to show the sentence, white is the fix, yellow is left alone if the rest of the sentence is okay. The first one I rewrote, the white in the last ones are what I fixed.
I think the problem is with the evidence people use. Some of it just doesn't show hacking and it wastes time. People need to review their own evidence and judge for themselves as to whether the video shows hacking. It is pointless to simply video a suspected hacker and make a complaint on them. You have to be unbiased and 100% certain that your evidence shows hacking. I don't think any additional staff members are needed for this situation. All Kuke and Unknown need is solid evidence.
If you want to implement this, then this is how I interpret it, 75%. The "mods" would only be 2 GA's (I'm guessing) -- kukelekuuk00 and Unknownrider, our PvP team. The two times I have been online when Unkownrider was, I see him fairly active in SG games, I'm assuming to track people using hacking clients. To be honest, I don't think the PvP department has time for this.
Wonder who voted on the 3rd vote option.... But i would apply for a staff team if they only to decide if they hack or not. I don't have time be a regular mod.
