Suggestion: Regulate the amount of trade signs in the towns surrounding new spawn.

Reason: Recently Andrewkm decided that we need to regulate farm locations in the towns next to the new spawn in order to lower lag. Well I purpose the same be done with trade signs. Trade signs cause a massive amount of lag and in certain towns surrounding the current spawn, there are known to be hundreds packed in small locations. We all know that the market place lags a lot. We all know that trade signs is one of the causes of said lag. So why should we allow tons of trade signs to be piled up around the new spawn if we are trying to minimize lag?

just wondering how can you prevent this?
Underground signs , sky , etc. would be hard to track amounts?

As I have learned, certain people can tell the amount of signs in a single area using commands/console info.

Same concept for how andrew found tons of furnaces compacted into a single area.

Good idea. But how can this be controlled sensibly? People paid millions for those tons, I doubt they'll be happy with regulations being imposed on them.

I would agree, if andrew hadn't already decided to regulate the size and location of any farms put in those locations.

I think it would be more of a concept of 'Do not have more than 20 signs in a chunk.' or something like that. You aren't expected to count but it would allow Andrew to have the right to world edit problem sections. For instance lets say Andrew or KH does a scan and finds a section that has 200 trade signs in a single chunk. I feel he should be able to issue a warning of 'remove it or lose it.' By warning the town owners ahead of time, it will be a significantly smaller problem later on.

It is not really a waste. Staff use a staff farm next to spawn so we can actually have an income while moderating. To top it off the traffic is so high that the crops are always grown.

I agree that making this a concept a regulation should be a good thing.

I have spoken with most of the gate town owners, and there is a general consensus that it is our responsibility to mitigate lag as much as possible since it has the ability to affect the Rising Spawn zone.

Some type of regulation that has some type of reasonable information supporting it, even if it is a long trial and error process, could actually be beneficial to all of EcoCityCraft as there would be a guideline on how to mitigate trade sign created lag for all towns.
