Minecraft Name: Addswerzxc Suggestion: Some sort of tracker/record or search engine for those who have been past banned or have complaints against them Reason: I know that Ecc has the search engine on the Forums and you can usually find the Complaints and Ban Appeals for a player, but not always, you may have to delv extremly deep to find information. What i'm suggesting is that an Additional search engine, or something along those lines, something that will have all the convictions on record clearly displayed. Say i want to purchase donations or say a Melon Sword from a player. I've never accosicated with that player in the past, and don't know them. I go to this Search Engine and input there name, like a background check, it will come up with: Date Of Birth (If they allow on there profile) Past Convictions, Bannes, succesful complaints and what those complaints and such pretained to; say they had done a Donation Scam months or so back and everyone has forgotten and you cannot find the Complaint. This Seach engine would eliminate that, it would clearly display, the date, reason and time of ban before Appealing. This would make contract's, or deals go alot smoother, you could see who your dealing with, possibly allowing other players to rate that player, via stars or something simple. Also displaying the Amount of Donation features and players could vote (Yes/No) to that player beening trusted and they have made a positive deal with them (Like you would see on sites such as "EBay"). Any Other Information: Please use constructive critzim, I have personally gotten scammed in the past and I couldn't find complaints or ban appeals on the player, and they told me they were clean. I wasn't until after that i was scammed i was told they had been banned 3 times and were extremly untrusted. I would like this system intagrated to make players feel alot safer during deals. Thanks -Addswerzxc
To be honest, I don't feel something this detailed is necessary. If you go to "more options" on the search bar, you are able to then select which forum you would like to search specifically. Then just proceed to type their name. If you can't find anything in there, then they either have A) a clean slate, or B) offenses that were done far enough back in the past to not be of relevance anymore. *Edit* I've had my fair share of scamming happen to me as well.
Given what you've described, this would require a database created with that information in it, because our current forum platform simply can't do that. This database would either have to be updated automatically or be updated manually. Updating it manually with that criteria would be tiresome (a staff member updating it after any user banned), and logging it automatically somehow (in a way that keeps both the forums and in-game in sync) would probably lag the server, and be nearly impossible to code (but I'm no dev, so don't quote me on that). Assuming such database could be created, allowing users to be ranked with positive or negative ratings would be rather arbitrary. It would only bring forth users with previous bans / complaints, and would fall prey to trolling players who would just downvote everyone. tl:dr: Too much work to be practical. That said, what I do is go into the postings tab on someone's profile and click "all threads created by this member" button. From there you're given a list and all you need do is skim for threads labelled "[Ban Appeal]". There you should have all the bans the player has received, barring unusual circumstances - but a general ask in global or donor chat "Is xxxx trustworthy?" should provide you with an answer. As well, while viewing the players forum profile, you can take a look at their donation medals.
