I think it would be useful. I personally don't trust trade signs, and it's super annoying to rig them up.

 

Thing with a plugin dedicated to holding money is that it would always have updates every time MC updates; and I mean updates that could be severely damaging and twitchy. I am doubting Andrew would pay/hire anyone to make a custom pocket/bank plugin and keep it up-to-date as fast as possible to avoid all issues. I trust trade signs more than I trust plugins dedicated to holding money.

As for the suggestion itself: As nice as other "pockets" or bank(s) would be for individual users, there would have to be some actual prevent behind it. By that, I mean limited withdrawals per day or week. Something like that might add too much data, though, or could get reset any time the server resets, go wonky, etc... If there was no limit on withdrawals (either timed or amount of money), it really would not prevent users from spending their money.

With trade signs, as people are using them now, you are far less likely to lose your money to broken plugins and from your own temptations - at least if you have a trustworthy friend to make the signs for you and hold your money. Even your own signs are safer...especially if you go inactive (money gets wiped from your character if you are gone too long, but it is safe in a sign). Signs can be locked, and if they are in your own town or the wild, they would likely never get unlocked.

 

Money only gets wiped completely if you have under $99,999 even that is 1 whole year, so, most presidents+ have 100k at least so we only get inventories, enderchests, and homes wiped.
