Minecraft Name: pierceporcher15 Suggestion: Adding a dislike button on threads Reason: Well instead of -1ing a thread, you can just hit the dislike button, another reason is because if you just absolutely hate that thread, you can show you hate it by hitting the dislike button. Other Information: N/A Link to this plugin: N/A
We used to have this back in October when we first switched to the new forums, but it was removed within days due to users teaming up and throwing a dislike party. They would go through all their posts and dislike them. We got complaints on the matter, so it was removed. I would not mind this being added back since most of the users who did it have been taken care of. If any negative rating was to be in place, I think is should be the "disagree" button. I wouldn't mind both as long as nobody gets upset over it.
I definitely think this is a good idea. To counter what Ryan said above, there would not be a "Negative Ratings Received:" thing below your post count. And negative votes would not lower your "Ratings Received:" amount. It wouldn't matter if i got 1 dislike or a hundred, it would not effect my rating count. Now we can make it really really easy to click "like" or "agree" and love an idea. But if you don't like an idea, you have to make a detailed post not being rude. But this would be a good thing. I want some dislikes on my post, I don't want to see the 5 people that like the idea, I also want to see the 50 people that don't like it.
There is next to no chance of the "dislike" button being readded, sorry but it would cause to much user to user conflict.
Then perhaps we could allow it so we would not be able to see who actually clicked the button. If you like my post, I can look and see that it was you. We could turn that off with dislike/disagree buttons.
