IGN: pierceporcher15 Suggestion: When you do /seen <username> and they are banned. It comes up with the ban reason. Reason: Because i think it will decrease the talking about banned players and if they where banned due to maybe scamming. we will know not to buy from that person. or be careful when doing buisness with that user. -1 Ban reasons are a private matter. If you would like to know why someone was banned, check the complaints and ban appeals.
-1 Exactly what Ryan just said They are private matters and we don't want bitchy and nasty comments about a player because they might have been banned for a more serious offense.
+1 I don't see why they are a private matter. Don't want players to know your ban reason, don't break the rules, simple.
-1. Allowing users to see Ban Reasons will bring up Ban discussions in chat, and will be a mess.. Although the users broke our rules, it doesn't mean the public should know why/what they did. It isn't none of the Public's business to know why a user is banned, all they have to know if they're banned... The rest doesn't matter, if you need to know, message the person in a private, respectful manor, and they can decide if they wish to let you know why they're banned.
Some things would be best if they're private. Like your balance and why you got banned. You wouldn't want people knowing why you got banned if you did and spamming you questions.
Hence.. Another incentive to stock to the rules an bit get banned. As for I wouldn't want that, I follow the rules so I don't get banned
What's wrong, is that it would lead to spamming and flaming, we have the "don't talk abut banned users" rule for a reason
-1 As many other staffmembers have said, ban reasons are a private matter. That doesn't mean it can't happen to others, I know that I myself have gotten banned for a reason I will never want anyone to know. And I know that some respectful members of the community have gotten banned before, but no one knows for what reasons. Yes, but the moment the curiosity is sated (when people know the reason for the ban) it will turn into flaming, saying things about the banned user (Usually spam) and unnecessary discussions. This is by far the most naive comment I've seen. As I said earlier in this post, I've gotten banned before, this was not even my own fault, but I was involved, so I got banned, too. Another example I have, the recent exp exploit, there have been a fair amount of bans, but none of those were made public, for a good reason, too. It's none of your business what people's ban reasons are, for the exact same reason you don't want people to know your balance. Some banreasons are delicate situations, too. If it's serious enough, andrew will make a thread about it and he'll tell you all you need to know. tl;dr, if you want to know reasons go to the ban appeal section and read them if you want to know banreasons.
This is not about you, this is about the majority of the server, I know for a fact that a lot of people don't want their balances known. Because we've seen it happen when a banreason leaks to the public.
Mabey you shud think about it a little and stop just thinking About yourself... Typed this on my phone :3
