Can't you make a privat chat in your town? I thikn it should be allowed as long as you tell people in your town to leave the chat if they don't like the chat? Ask a mod.
The reason political discussions are not allowed on ECC is because it is a touchy subject for some people and can cause heated arguments. Adding a channel to discuss this in will cause these arguments. Even if users are able to leave the channel it doesn't mean that they won't get angry by a discussion before they do leave the chat.
