Ok so i'm going to start this thread by collaborating my ideas into a simple “suggestion” to simplify the situation and make it more easy to understand my suggestion at a glance

Suggestion: Improve and be less lenient on rule breakers

Reason: Well for one it is starting to make this server at a glance have a bad community

I want to first start off by saying that I do not like complaining about this server, it is far by the best Minecraft server that is out but only one problem stands out which is certain people of the community. I do not like “telling” you how to run the server and that is not my objective whilst writing this, I am simply getting more and more annoyed at what is happening to the community and how lenient the rules can be.

Let’s start this argument off by posting a few examples that I have seen and users simply getting away without proper punishment even though a complaint has been filed against them. I should also state that these quotes were thrown out by “respectable” people of the community.

1. “yeah f*** you f***ing loner ****. Hope you're happy christmas is f***ed. You little gay c***” Obviously this sentence can be taken in a very offensive way, for example using the word “gay” in a derogatory terms is highly offensive and like i said it does not align with the rules on the ECC wiki.

2. user spamming multiple people with the word “dumbass” although the word may not seem highly offensive but under the circumstances as he has spammed it to more than 1 person it definitely does not align with ECC rules. Also in the same complaint the same user had said “fuck ur not smarter than us to think cause your mom told u” after all the evidence this user was simply given a warning.

As you can see here are only 2 examples of users getting away without punishment that is justified to the actions. It’s not just bad language that is making this servers community look like a bunch of 2 year olds, it is also the constant trolling that goes on in chat which yet again stated in the rules not allowed, let’s take for example “bringing up subjects which will just cause an argument” of course everybody deserves their own opinion but saying stuff in chat such as “What’s the point in rules” and “ECC shouldn’t have rules” both of these are only a small example of opinions that will only cause arguments and as you are probably aware a small thing like this blows up in ECC to massive amounts of swearing, users hating each other, and a all round bad community.

I’m not here to give examples of things that go on as you are very much aware and all evidence is either on the forums or on the chat logs.


Now let’s discuss the impact and first opinions that new players feel when joining the server. when a new player joins you’d expect him to feel welcome and in a friendly environment but when someones first experience is a mass arguement with high amounts of bad language of course the new player will not like it. Also let’s take Ventrilo for example, not very often a new player joins ventrilo but when they do they are usually classed as a 2nd class citizen, a quick example of this is a new user had joined ventrilo and was asking questions and simply got a response saying “f*** off, why does noone ever read the rules” I understand that it can be very hard to monitor what goes on in ventrilo as it is voice communication but nethertheless there were mods in the channel (maybe AFK) but nothing was done, the new user simply logged out of ventrilo before I could help.


Like I have mentioned previously most of these incidents involve a small amount of players but the sadness in this is the players are well known in the community. many users have been banned well over 10x over the same offenses, simply warning the user to “read the rules” isn't enough, it's obvious that they have not learnt from mistakes, users simply carry on with the bad behavior as they know what will happen it’s a repetitive process of

1. user breaks rules bad enough for a ban.
2. user posts a ban appeal.
3. moderator unbans player or temp bans for a small amount of time.

With a repetitive process like this no wonder users break the rules as they know because they have donated they will be unbanned, it seems like the only thing the server is strict on is x-raying which is understandable.

I’m going to end this here, I may add a few more paragraphs here but I think i have made my point clear, I understand that I probably will get banned for posting this but it is worth the risk as I am doing this on behalf of many other ECC players. thanks for reading.

Exactly my point , some users have been banned 10s of times and simply get away with it. I'm not stopping until something changes even if I do get banned.
