I heard Andrew throw the idea around once when watching a twitch of his. I think i would be cool if users could spend ecd to upgrade their islands and make them better. You could also have an app (similar to pilot/survivor) where the user would have to pay like 20k upfront to get it and then could pay for more land/items on their land. Any Other Information: let me know what you think, i'm not particularly knowledgeable in ecc servers and how they work (this is still my first and only server ever) so i'm not sure if this is possible, but I'm led to believe that it is solely because andrew mentioned it once in a twitch stream but it was never implemented . Andrew already has plans for the future. And by "link ECC to an internal SkyBlock server", Do you mean, ECC has a skyblock server, or forward users to another server completely?
I'm not entirely sure my self (that's why i left it vague) I'd assume the first since we don't really promote going to other servers. The first option would also limit it to only ECC users and therefore make sure that there aren't random people there Again correct me if I'm wrong on any of this, like i previously said I'm not too terribly knowledgeable about this stuff
Ok, Well andrew has said he has plans for future things. I don't think we would want to send ECC users to other servers. No no
We could, But the size that the world would get, along with all the other stuff to make it run, It would cause immense lag on the Main Server.
We would need to dedicate a large amount of server space/power to another server. It would require a large amount of users to dedicate time their, and to increase donations so that we can power the increased server power needed.
While this may be true, I would be curious to see how much additional power this would actually require, as I really don't think it would require as much as one would think. We already have a massive 30,000*30,000*2 main world (plus w/e else in smaller worlds) so I imagine Andrew probably has a pretty large set-up to run all of this. The amount of stress this would add I imagine would be far smaller and more insignificant than what we are currently running, and I feel we could do it
+1 sky block would be pretty cool, but I think there should be a separate money system. Skyblock's resource needs are COMPLETELY different then that of the normal game. Either you just change the economy system in the hub or you have everybody start at $0 and have a new money system. A piece of dirt in sky block is much more valuable than diamonds.
you could scale it to pay with ecd. so that each cube of placeable dirt doesn't cost what the charges, it would cost much more ecd
I honestly think it would be better if it was a totally different money system. Users should not be able to benefit extremely from their actions in normal ECC and users in sky block should not be able to benefit from sky block to the normal ECC.
Think about it…..Why should some tycoon rich person be able to build some giant sky mansion from absolutely no money from sky block. It would defeat the purpose of Skyblock. The point is to build your way up slowly until you can prosper. You utilize farms, and mob spawning buildings. You user spawn eggs to your advantage for breedings and such. Some millionaire should not waltz in and build a giant 500x500 farm and make more millions of ECC. I think if a separate money system called like….SkyBlockCredits was created….and a different economy pay scale was made completely separate from ECC just like the Aether then this idea could work perfectly….otherwise…if it is the same economy system I would not support it.
But ya….This server is evolving, we are getting more users, and it has been a couple good years and if Andrew can add more things and it is in his power to make an entirely new pay scale and economy system solely for sky block then that would be fantastic! If Andrew can do it, then by golly we should add another hub to the server…it has been quite a while since another hub has been added I presume, so why not now..
+1 I like sky block however u think we should wait for Andrews official announcement after August 1st
I personally love Skyblock, and had the number one island on a server before I found ECC (please do not spank me for mentioning unnamed server). I would love to see this implemented, and would love to be a part of it.
I like skyblock, but I don't think it fits in with ECC. ( hardcore economy server) If you want to play skyblock, go on a skyblock server with some of your ECC friends if you need to. Just my two cents. -1
I don't understand this point :/ your throw out the phrase "hard core economy server" like building a nation form one island isn't hard core ._. Sky blocks is actually very challenging if you have the right settings. If we were suggesting a pvp based game then ok the "hardcore" part is reasonable. But sky blocks is hardcore X) and if made correctly where u can make money from it but have nothing to start with besides a starter chest, that is really hardcore and cool. ^~^
