Minecraft Name: Jason1964 Suggestion: The wait time between posts be lowered to 20 seconds. Reason: Currently it's at 30 seconds. This leaves just enough time for me to post on one thread, go to the next one, read the last reply, type a new one out, and have to wait 5 more seconds. By lowering it to twenty seconds, it still wouldn't be enough to spam, yet it would be just short enough not to pop up with "Wait 5 more seconds before preforming that action." Any Other Information: If your unsure what the wait time is, it keeps you from posting 50 posts all in a row. If you post on one thread, and try to post again, it makes you wait 30 seconds. Link To This Plugin: It's the forums.
Then what's the point of having a timer at all? A forum gold user could easily spam it as much as a non-gold user.
Becasue the forum gold users are more "trustworthy" in a way. They are less likely to spam rage at people.
-1 If you need less time than 30 seconds to post maybe you should rethink your argument Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 4
Yep, forum gold seems like it is going to be your first donation because you have a lot of threads about the forums
Forum gold = 0 post wait time and 5,000 inbox and 25 conversation members. Also, you can customize your 'rank' and chose to be gold sparkly. Basically, I don't think we need this change because it would diminish the forum gold upgrade. Revanrose6
It's called fast reading and fast typing I suppose your right, it's just so annoying being 5 seconds too fast....
I didn't even know you guys had that... It would ruin part of Forum Gold. No flood limits would be a good reason to buy it, and it supports ECC.
Sure nice being a Smod isn't it? But I suppose your right. This seems to be the way it is, you may lock it if you wish, it's not going to happen. Shame on me for not doing the research
Jason, Smods don't auto get forum gold lol. I have a flood limit as well, I've just never tried to post that quickly that I would have a problem.
I just tend to type really really fast And read fast, I just read fast because it's one of my favorite hobbies. Well, sounds like I'm gonna have to put up with it.
+1, I am a fast typer and reader, often I go to a post an try to reply an get this message. Not everyone has the ability to purchase forum gold. I am only 16 years old, I have no Paypal/credit cards. I cannot buy forum gold with Ecodollars. 20 seconds seems a fine amount of time to me.
It's actually quite a feat to be able to make a legitimate post once every minute, let alone 30 seconds. I didn't even know there was a wait time prior to seeing this.
I don't know Maybe I'm just a really really fast typer. If people keep posting this I'm going to go take a WPM test XD
I believe the flood timer was 20 seconds in the past - it was bumped up to 30 seconds. Even with 30 seconds, we can still get spam (you would be surprised, but I've seen some pretty nasty forum spam attacks with 30 second limits). As well, I agree with some of the others; it would diminish Forum Gold and Forum Lite. Some things need to be kept exclusive; especially on a donation "feature" that some can say already lacks for its price. Not everyone can get what they want... And in the case of anything that requires real life donation (in this case, strictly so), there is often much less "leniency" and flexibility. On another note, the average WPM is 25-40, roughly. That is more than enough time for most people. (Personally, I type up to (and higher than) 98WPM. However, I relax and go down to 65WPM average.) This is not even including time some people spend to proofread, rephrase, edit, consider the person(s) they are talking to, vocabulary choices, etc. So even as a fast type, 30 seconds should still not get in the way. If you are going faster than your limit, put a little more effort into your posts / extend them / read more / give some more thought. This may not be the case on Forum Games, Off-Topic, Pictures, etc., but those are more for fun... Why should we lower the flood limit for the reason of "fun," when there is the threat of spammers and spam attacks? (As I said before, you'd be surprised at what people can do. I have seven years of forum lurking, posting, and moderating. Advancing technology goes for all parties, too, so it isn't much of an excuse.)
