Minecraft Name: oreo1227 Suggestion: I think there should be a command or something to be able to turn off vote reminders, for all players. Reason: Currently vote #5 is not working for me and it gets annoying being reminded to vote when it isn't possible at all to vote. I am sure this has happened to others as well. Sure you can turn off vote reminders somehow with Macro Mod I have been told, but Macro Mod is really hard to do. That is why I believe that a command like /votereminders should be available. Besides, not everybody votes because they choose not to and I am sure the vote reminders get annoying for them too. Other Information: I have heard recently that donors fought to get vote reminders as a regular thing, but it does get quite annoying.
No? If you could disable vote reminders then less votes would be made for the server, decreasing popularity.
Yeah, the vote reminder has been bugged or something. I voted on the all 6 sites and the reminder still keeps spam the chat that I haven't voted yet..
In my opinion should we either slow down the reminder a bit, like the text comes up once every 5 minutes to make this less annoying (to the people that think this is annoying) or either stay up some nights to try fix this bug so we don't have to watch the reminder spamming our chats.
Turn it off or have a command to turn it off? Definitely not, bad on multiple levels. Fix the buggyness of it? Totally.
If it is showing after you have voted and 24 hours has not passed, likely the server went down for a maintenance and it restarted (it happens). I would rather see them, even if they are buggy. Many people have horrible memory, and may forget to turn them back on (or vote, for that matter). As well, I am sure I saw somewhere that Andrew said vote reminders will never be turned off...
I still think that say when you first log on it should have it automatically set to on, but say then if you want to, you can turn them off for you, and next time you log in they will be on again
I finally got vote 5 to work last night. Still getting vote reminders either way. Votes 1-4 and 6 don't get voted til about 3pm CST and I voted for vote 5 at around 11pm CST last night.
Yeah, don't get rid of. I mean an option to switch it off, mainly for those who don't vote or for those who voted and still get reminders. I believe ECC should have a command allowing you to toggle reminders. It automatically starts at on every time you log on and the player would have to then turn it off if they don't want to see it. Then the next time they log on it will be back on.
And you really think everyone will be mature enough to think "Ah yes, I haven't voted, guess I'll leave the reminder on." It's more like: "This annoying vote reminder, I'm going to turn it off, and I don't care if i voted already."
Hello, I would like to inform you more about the vote reminder. Vote reminders will never get turned off or have an option to temporarily turn it off. Andrewkm and the Developers specifically created the vote reminder so that you would vote and bring the EcoCityCraft server back up to the top. Without this command many users would not vote, and if this were to happen EcoCityCraft's amount of new users would decrease. This means that we will be drifting back down the totem pole of Minecraft servers, which would defeat the entire purpose of the vote reminder. Also, if you have voted already and the vote reminder is still going then post a Bug Report so that the Developers know. I am positive it will be taken care of as soon as possible. VoteReminder will not be changed. If there is a bug regarding VoteReminder, please report it and andrewkm can reset the VoteReminder for you if there are many people having trouble.
Too me I think that vote reminders don't remind me to vote they make me not want to vote due to the bugs. I vote and I still get reminders. I think that they should happen less often.
