Minecraft Name: Edgezhero Suggestion: I think that the "unarmed" skill in mcmmo should get a buff to its abilities and add-ons, such as: Increase the damage upgrade rate so that it can be balanced with using a sword, or giving it another ability to cover for the loss of disarm, such as paralyzing so that it may be useful. Reason: People invested a lot of time into unarmed in the past, and they got the bitter end of the deal when disarm was taken out. As reasonable as it was to take it out, steps should have been take to further balance the loss. The fact that unarmed's main ability was taken out made unarmed skill completely useless. People shouldn't be able to just walk into the arena and see everyone with high enchanted swords and just start swinging away. There needs to be options in combat, otherwise it just becomes a battle between people who have been in pvp the longest. Without any variance in combat styles, there is no reason to include combat in the economy server, because all it will do is frustrate people who are trying to get into that part of the game. The more options they have to choose from, the more likely they will like pvp. And if more people like pvp, they will more easily be able to enjoy all of what the server has to offer. Any Other Information: I have had personal experience with the loss of unarmed skills disarm, as it was useful and a great way to make money. But the real loss to me was the fact that I put so much time into training it, then the thing that made unarmed "unarmed" and deadly, was taken out, rendering the skill to be totally useless. There was only a slight change to attempt to balance it, but as you can see from pvp, that balance does nothing, because swords can light people on fire, and knock back, as fists only get "some" damage increase.
I don't exactly think disarm should be returned, but I don't think that's what you're getting at. Unarmed could use a boost in some way or another, I just don't know exactly what.
Yeah, I agree on disarm. As fun as it was, I don't think it benefits everyone's enjoyment of pvp. I was looking more to if there was an option of something like paralyze, or knockback with your fists, or something that would provide a bonus to unarmed like how swords have counter strike.
I have to say that, that would be a big mistake, as, especially for those who are new, people would complain about the disarm, and losing all their good gear to other players. And how it's stealing. Obviously andrew took it out for good reasons, and I'm not asking him to bring it back by any means. But I'm just asking for better traits to the unarmed ability.
And idea could be similar to the swords counter attack and the unarmed arrow dodge ability: allow the unarmed player to "dodge" or remaneuver an enemies sword in order to dodge. Say .033 per level percent chance? Unarmed definitely needs to be buffed in some form and I support this idea. People worked hard to train the skill and it needs more benefits other than disarm.
I agree Although I do not have a high unarmed, I believe that if you worked hard for it... you should at least get some nice benefits from it. Swords can easily kill you anyway. I don't see anything wrong with helping fist fighters
