Minecraft Name: expoldzibo Suggestion: Add Trial-Mods as a kind of Moderator. Reason: Okay, I saw earlier that lots of our staff are resigning, and I thought, "hey, why are there so little mods chosen and why is ther ea shortage of them?", so I suggest adding a new rank called the [Trial-Mod], which lets the people chosen try to do the jobs that a mod does, and get supervised at the same time. Also, this would enable more mods get picked per round, and this would solve the shortage of mods. Any Other Information: Nerp, just thought this would be cool. Link To This Plugin: N/A
This is silly, if we give them mod powers then what is the point of having them, and if we don't give them mod powers then they're just regular players with access to staff chat or something.
I do believe that these "trial mods" could just have kick but not ban. Having access to the staff chat and proving that they know what they are doing could prevent poor staff choices/make the choice easier.
If they can't ban people the can't moderate spawn, which is perhaps the thing they'd be most needed to do.
Just because a trial mod is added doesnt mean more staff will be picked. We do not pick staff on how many there are that we want, however how many we need.
Then what exactly would trial mods do? Just point out to staff things staff has already taken care of?
Again, what is the point if they can't do the work they do as a moderator? Most new mods are practically "trial mods" already, they get taught how it works and usually this works out. Although sometimes there's a bad egg inbetween the picks, the picks are generally good and there's no need for a trial run.
As Kuke has said, the first few weeks of being a moderator is basically a 'trial mod' rank. We watch you, give you advice, tell you when you are doing something wrong, and basically weed out the bad eggs that pop up. I would like it also noted that if we made them a separate rank this probably would have absolutely no effect on how many people are picked. We pick the number of staff we NEED. To top it off, the more staff we pick the more people we have to watch until they are through the first few weeks. Personally, I have no problem with the moderator rank being where it is and the staff apps working they way they do.
I would just like to mention that AssistMod rank used to exist (in other words, "Trial-Mod"). It didn't work, and it still won't work. It was taken out for a reason; because it didn't work. :b (Same with SeniorMod - just didn't work. Both ranks made no difference whatsoever.)
That's throwing spaghetti at a wall hoping it'll stick. All you'll be left with are stains on the wall.
