Minecraft Name: Rivere Suggestion: Removal of towns with inactive mayors and members Reason: Towns that have inactive mayors will take up space that could be put to better use. Any Other Information: Even if the town has 1 resident who isn't mayor or co-mayor, I'm happy to let them go on (though it may be bit difficult if they don't have water) as the town would still be potentially used. It's places where the only resident is the mayor themselves who have been inactive for very extended periods of time (I'm thinking 1 month, but up to 3 months if others find this too short). The towns are a waste of space and consume a 40,000 square block area that has the potential of over $400,000 (Given the rule of thumb that a 10x10 plot is worth $1000 and every block is sold). Another option to removal could be the buying of said town from the server for, say, $50,000 given it already has the constraints of flattening, demolition and lack of choice for location. If you have any questions or changes you would have made to this please post below. Smurfoplis at X:-1387, Y:66, Z:-7454 is a prime example.
This would never happen, if anything, they'd sell old towns... Also, with a 30,000 x 30,000 world, it'll take a long time before space is scarce...
It's not necessarily that space will be sparce, but what space and where? A town near a portal is more valuable than one far away, and if it's in a snow biome the water may keep freezing if exposed. It's all about placement too.
No, sorry but this isnt a good idea. Say I spend months building my awesome town. Then i leave and come back in two months, or even half a year, and my town has been removed. -1
-1 the build world changes once every few month so we can explore new places. Also you can just go to the mining world if you like to mine or look around.
I thought of this problem. Andrew is NEVER EVER going to remove towns of inactive mayors, but he might remove them from Perma-Banned mayors. If a mayor is Permabanned there is 0% percent chance they are coming back. I know most empty towns are because the mayor is inactive, but I'm sure there are a few ghost towns with a permabanned mayor. We could remove those towns.
Most towns are flat. World edit or something? You wouldn't want a bunch of locked chests sitting around...
Even with a perma-banned mayor, there is a potential co-mayor that is still using the town... so This is just a bad idea in general
Of course following the stuff he outlined. All residents are gone, no co-mayors, plus permabanned mayor. I mean, 100% ghost town.
I still don't see a good use for this suggestion.... 30k x 30k is plenty of room... IF we do somehow come scarce on room, THEN this would be somethign to think about... so... in 2027, we can work on this.
This won't happen. Mainly because once people leave our server, we always welcome them back - Removing their well worked on town, or, their property they bought for money wouldn't be fair.
So we don't need to worry about a map reset until 2027? Or when can a map reset occur? I'm a little curious about it. ^^
There's only like two users that have been Permabanned.. We only use it in VERY rare cases, it isn't worth the time for.
Really? I thought there were quite a few...lol makes my suggestion pretty useless. Really only 2?? Really???
All that number is, is when the ECC map would fill up with 200x200 towns, if they would be spaced perfectly. In all honesty the map probably will fill up in a practical sense a few years before that. To answer your question. I would imagine if ECC is still a thing by then Andrew will just expand the map. My thread on this from a while ago. At some point I want to update this, but kind of hard without the live map. :/
