Minecraft Name: chargers2417 Suggestion: The ability for the original town owner to request for their town to be removed. Reason: Currently, my two towns are smushed besides other towns that I didn't even know that were there. I had plans of expanding but now I can't. Anyway, my idea is that the mayor of an original town maybe request for their town to be deleted. I would imagine the process would go like this: 1) Player A buys a town next to their town from Player B. 2) Player A pays for the town, and gives the money to Player B to make an application. 3) Town gets removed and Player A can build his own town there now. I would suggest pricing these removals at around $40,000. This could be another money drain on the economy, which is good. The player would still need to put the 4 signs around the town. Any Other Information: I'm not sure how many people are in a situation like mine, but hopefully there are a lot of you out there so this suggestion has more relevance. Link To This Plugin: WorldGuard
So when you say that the town will be removed, do you mean the protection over the town? or everything within that town? Because I can see a problem here if only the town protection is to be removed. Lets say I get my town removed, all the buildings and stuff is still there, then another soon to be mayor comes along and sets their new town to where my old town was. Then they would have some sort of start into building up their town. Do you understand what I'm getting at?
What if you where in chargers position. What if you had built a town to expand it then some guy came and took land next door to you. It would be a waste to remove your hard work you put into building your town.
That the decision to be made. Is it worth more to you to find a new place and relocate with then intention of clean expansion but have to rebuild or deal with the lack of possible expansion and keep all of your structures? Something to be considered would things like town warps and portals pvp areas etc. would all of those be left behind?
Um… I'd like to point out that the Original owner of a town could use this as a trolling device. I own town A. I sell town A to Dork. Dork puts a lot of stuff in it. I file a removal application and suddenly, Town A is gone, the stuff is still there. I take the stuff and run away with it…. You get the point.
As much as this idea can be useful in some ways to people. I (and probably many others) see some problems with this. Jus Sayin
I get the point, you just need to have a large amount trust in the user. It would be like making a spawn shop transfer application and then deleting, but there are more loops holes to my idea but it's just a risk that one would need to be willing to take.
In the case of not being the original owner, it can either be a) know of this and take the risk, or b) require the town removal application to link to contracts that sell towns to other users (think of it like LWCs and original owner locks; link to town creation thread is required). Problem with the first option is pre-existing town transfers/sales. Problem with the second option is that whoever handles these applications would absolutely need to do forum searches to make sure there are no contracts, in case someone doesn't link them, to avoid problems and to fine the user who didn't link the required contract(s). If it could be worked out, I think it would be a good idea. Or, at least, an idea that I like.
I am guessing all the residents of the town would be given notice as they would be affected by griefing issues. I am also guessing that the town name can be reused? Would this open up the slots in the Spawn-Town portal area? Chat channel, etc? How would this go for putting in Original Owner app links? I suspect right now the mods are only checking the name of the towns. If they start to get re-used, I feel this may muddle up some things if people lnk the wrong apps, or something along those lines. With that being said. This DOES seem to be a way to "officially" transfer towns. I build a town and after awhile I remove the protections and the person I "sell" it to, makes their new posts in the exact same location. He/She now becomes the "original" owner of that area. Interesting possibilities.
Something else to note about this. Now with town claiming, this feature could go in hand with it. Instead of just claiming the town, even though it is yours, you could completely redo it, with the same spot. New name and size mainly.
